A slammed/stanced FR-S/BRZ would probably look great, but its not the direction Im going in. I want a functional drop while maintaining cornering balance. The chop I made on the last page is entirely too low for me to safely drive around here. Sure it looks great, but I couldnt really enjoy the car since Id be too worried about bottoming out.

I'll let them take care of it then. Can I be banned from a single thread and that's it?

For daily driving purposes, slammed isn't practical. Is it possible to do? Yes. Would it be a pain in the ass? Yes. Do people still do it? Yes.

Aestetically slammed looks great but I can't imagine going much lower with my car.

^^^Tyler, well its not how low you can go....

its "what ride height will do better at the track"

dropped (tucking the tire, not rim) and not slammed will do better according to me and mr illest say slam the bish like the porsches and 458 challenge, and that is the way to go....

All I say is Tyler is spot on. The same goes for a daily driven high horsepower vehicle. Is a 1000hp street car necessary? No. Would it be a pain in the ass? Yes. But people still do it. The concept applies to both sides of the modification spectrum.

No...you don't understand what I am talking about. A one or two finger gap is slammed. If you can only fit one or two fingers between the tire and fender, how is this not slammed?

you were talking about slammed and posted the following pix....try putting 1-2 fingers between the wheel and fender ???

if you can put 1-2 finger:
on top of the tire and under the fender: dropped
in front of the tire and behind the fender: tuck
no finger: slammed !!!

i bet you knew that LOL

EDIT: i am telling him to tuck it on the highway and be dropped on the track !!! best of both worlds !!! and you were telling him to slam it....

ANOTHER EDIT: if you were being sarcastic....am sorry LOL...you shud have text me bitch....am bad with sarcastic jokes LOL

I had a 1.2" drop in the front, and .7" in the rear. Result was 1-2 finger gap. I wouldn't consider this "slammed" by any stretch of the imagination:

Me? Hell no. All I'll say is that THIS is slammed:

My car with no finger gap up front and about 1 in the rear is NOT slammed, it's just lowered:

Slammed is when the fender is sitting past the sidewall of the tire

I'm open minded. I think a lot of slammed cars look good. When I see stuff that's hellaflushed with the tires grooved up, dented fenders and stupid camber that's a turn off. Done properly I'm in.

My DD is lowered conservatively and my project vehicle is slammed on hydraulics.

I honestly cannot explain how I view this over the Internet without being a douchebag. Not trying to back out, just cannot be explained. Morgan, what did I tell you? Me vs Acurazine.

In all seriousness, this thread should probably be closed.

Im lowered, not slammed, and driving is still very comfortable. Im just a lot more careful over smaller speed bumps and really steep grades. Otherwise the car doesn't scrape or hit.

The way I see ride height is unique, my intro to the stance/slammed scene was with people who were not satisfied until the car was, literally, sitting on the ground in a few cases. The way they showed me measuring how low you are was one or two fingers, and I'm talking horizontal not vertical. There's been times I couldn't even get my pinky finger more than a quarter inch into the fender well on some friends cars. My view of slammed-ness and fitment is rather unique because of this "Intro to Low." I guess that's the only way I can think of to describe it.

^^^ Tyler...in simple words, dont confuse slammed with stance or flushness...2 complete different things....

you can be slammed but not flush without a stance....
and you can be lowered but flush and stance....

anyway am off....going home....so see you fellas tomorrow morning....

Example of a Columbia/STL person who really helped me to understand stance. This is the kind of thing I am used to.

FRS = Car that was designed around handling and being fun to drive.

Slamming it and worrying about wheel offsets and tire stretching is going backwards.
