Turbo Kit for Acura TL '04-'08
Rodney was able to refer me to good company. Right now the broken one is on it way to them and they should give me a definite answer within couple days.
And Rodney stop being impatient, Tuesday is just very few hours away. Wish I could have made it there. Would you be driving to him or have it Tow

Sorry I met to reply the first time. Before i installed the turbo, with just a few upgrades like CAI and pipe, the check engine light used to blink as I was push my car on 3rd gear or down-shifting from 4th while my foot is off the gaze. The blinking will happen about 10 times and go back to normal. I wasn't as frequent to after I installed the turbo. In a way it's my fault cause I really did not give enough break-in time, after tuning the car. Hopefully it did not slip so we'll be able to change some of the internal. Rest sure that you'll be one of the first to know as soon as i found out

very. like $3200 for a VW 10 years ago. that's what manufacturers must do to get power to the ground evenly and with no tq steer, like on the new Ford Focus RS (right, Ford, but it's a pretty hot machine).
never read if we could put the 6 speed LSD on the auto's. probably still very expensive.

*so, anyone know of a successful 6MT --> 5AT LSD swap?
It's happened to me a few times, with mods ranging from just CAI to CAI and assorted exhaust mods. I floor it, and the CEL blinks for a while and then back to normal. Not every time, just once in a blue moon. From what I could gather on here, it was just a cylinder misfiring.

I'm very interested to see what fails. I'm hoping that it's not too major of a problem, because if we need to add a heavy duty tranny when adding the turbo kit, this mod just got really expensive and involved!!! Maybe if you guys end up doing this as a kit there could be different stages.....stage one being able to run on a mostly stock TL (maybe no intercooler), stage two a few supporting mods necessary (intercooler added), stage three needing upgrading tranny......just a thought. Only time will tell what exactly we will end up needing.
I'm very anxious to see some videos of both TLs running though!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!
It also happens with bad gas too or water in the gas. I remember I put in gas from some run down place (because I had no choice) and every time I would floor the car I would get a CEL. Then once the tank finished and I put in some 93 gas from my Lukoil gas station, she ran like a charm.
I got the CEL light on hard acceleration with my first tranny. Light would come on, then go out after 10 blinks. The Acura dealer could never diagnose the problem. After the tranny was replaced (for slipping) I never had the CEL light on hard acceleration again.
I have no engine mods.

Lukoil= Iran
Citgo,Valeo= Venzuela

First tranny, huh? That doesn't sound good. The only time I've gotten the CEL was just after installing my P2R throttle body spacer....drove for about 50 miles and it went off on it's own. I just installed my J-pipe without any problems and never had the CEL after I installed my CAI, but I pulled the battery cable for that one. And I definitely get on it when I'm driving!
oddly enough, they sell Citgo on the Navy base here in Jacksonville. Nice.
back on topic
I wasn't going to say anything... but are you serious about your statement on making an entire country (Iran) a parking lot? I mean really? That's a pretty fucking stupid statement. Congratulations. In the almost four years I've been on this site, never have I heard such a low life statement. Even in ramblings...
Edit: sorry for getting off track, but shit like that can't be over looked.

I'll take the liberty of ending all of this here and letting people cool their heads before any more remarks are made that won't help the progression of the "TL Turbo" thread.

haha gives alot of people reasons to still be happy with a AT now huh lol and yes hopefully they give you an option of how much boost you want, becuz personally i'd be happy with 6 psi. 8 would be pushing it lol. but 6 psi is all is needed to get the job done and the point across =]
still would like to know the breaking point in our trannys for boost anyways. seems like so far 10 psi is outta the question on stock tranny.
WOW, we have really come along way, havent we?? this turbo thread brings a tear to my eye, on the tremendous strides we have taken when only i/e/p were our only power mods available a few years back. 400whp is absolutely insane!
now we have to start thinking about some strong AM axles (no not GG axles, what a joke
) and talking to someone about beefing up our trannys (auto and manual)
i drive my car fairly hard and i pay the price for it. im on my 3rd 6spd tranny so far, with the last one seeing no track time whatsoever. unless you baby it every where you go, it just wasnt designed to handle over 100+hp over factory. this is one thing that cant be overlooked and seriously need to be addressed in the near future.

How many shafts have you had to replace? You better sell the SC before demand drops.. lol.
You are going to be looking at about a year before it would be ready for production. There is testing that needs to be done and tweaking that will be required before it is 100% production ready.

awesome job!
