You are not alone.
I have no answer for you but I experience the same thing. It usually picks up and syncs after a few minutes of driving though, in my case.

it sucks especially when someone calls you and you don't know what button to press on your phone because the handsfree link didn't pick it up! i haven't had this issue with my honda odyssey... oh well..

try completely removing your device profile and try pairing it again. I had to do that to get my new iphone to pair correctly

I have to re-pair my phone every 2 weeks. I had to do it this morning in fact. Pretty dumb.

Haven't reached 2 weeks yet w/ my LG G2 but so far no major problems.
I've been playing with hypermiling for fun and sometimes shut off the ignition at a red light and it varied from ~2s to 30s to re-pair after starting up again.
The phone could bare some of the the responsibilty; my phone's balance is off when paired.

I've had like 7 phones(iphones, HTC’s, Galaxy s’s, Moto X, and current G4) since I've had my car, no problems with any of them needing to be re-paired. Just had a couple drop connection once or twice.
