I bought an ABS sensor driver rear (SU9081) from Autozone. Part does not fit without hammering it in. I also bought a passenger rear abs sensor, this one fits like a glove.

I know a few years ago I ago a CV Boot from autozone and it was the wrong part too. I went to advanced auto parts and they had the same boot. In the end I had to go to NAPA, they had the proper CV Boot.

Question is anyone else have problems with buying parts that don't fit our cars?

These cars are 10+ years old, you'd think all the parts are correct in their databases. Just venting sorry guys.

blame honda.
Honda switches up part numbers all the time.

ive had trouble with my 3G TL.
in 04, brake lines were one way. then in 05, brake lines were changed and the fitting to the ABS module changed.
different parts, same part numbers. same car. different fittings.
you can see how it would get confusing quick. i think i went through 2 brake lines then finally went to a junk yard and found the correct one i needed.

There are certain things you can by from the secondary market and some you should go OEM and just suck up the cost. Try rockauto.com. Or one of the sponsored vendors on here.

Also I want to add that things like motor mounts and brakes the after market is better than oem and in some cases less expensive. But things like sensors and your abs system you should go with oem just to be on the safe side, literally.

Do Not hammer that sensor in !
I did that to mine when I first changed the sensor in the front left, soon after ABS would engage randomly when coming to a stop which is dangerous, the car will keep going forward in some cases until you stomp the pedal the second time.

That was what I experienced, maybe the gap was wrong with the tone ring, just thought I should put it out there. Like mentioned above use oem for this kind of stuff.

Definitely don't want to hammer it in.

I remember having to get a 10 year old abs sensor out without damaging it. Jeez, took forever.

I bought 3 after market parts and they fit like a glove. Bought oem sensor (left rear)and the thing doesn't fit. Seems like the metal shrunk. I am out of ideas.. Anyone got suggestions. Besides taking it in.

Also add to that list ignition system parts. Hondas hate any ignition component that isn't oem for some reason.

Never had any problem with Autozone parts.. Not like I changed much anyway.. Brake Pads, Light Bulbs, Rotors, Shocks (When they handled KYB they now use only Duralast Crap and Monroe :/ )..


BUT ABS Sensors? that's definitely a OEM Part I would only buy and Aftermarket sensor if it was made by DENSO only.

Resolved. This one knuckle had so much corrosion it wouldn't fit. Sanded with a drill and some sandpaper. Now sensor fits wonderfully.
