Exclamation VSA light and Exclamation sign???

So I have a '03 tl-s, and my vsa light stays on and even if i press the vsa button, it won't go off, it's just permanently on. what exactly does vsa stand for and what does it mean for my tl?

Also, there's another light that's on my dashboard that won't go off. It's an exclamation mark inside of a triangle. What does this mean?

Sorry guys, I don't have a manual so I didn't know who to ask except on the best Acura forum ever
Please help me.

i'm pretty sure vsa stands for vehicle stability assist, and it's some form of traction control, but i don't know much i have a 00' tl-p so i have tcs.

Does the exlamation sign and the VSA light stay on together permanently? Or does the exlamation point go away after you turn the ignition off and turn it back on? You should run the codes to determine what the problem is.

Ditto: this also happened to me before. now before my trans went this was happening and i could not explain it. but everytime i turned my system up loud enough my VSA/Exclamation Sign/Check engine light used to come on. i dunno if you have a system in your car, but that was one factor for me. only when i blasted the music that happened. But it also happened to me when my transmissions from before blew... #5 still going strong!!!

places like aamco or cottman do code reading for free and know what codes are transmission related

parts stores also pull codes for free- report back with those and we can help you more

you could have a bad speed sensor at a wheel too- not everything is trans related!

Does your ABS light come on too?

I have this problem and it's my wheel speed sensor that is stripped. I need to replace this. Anyone knows how hard it is to replace?

it really could be a number of things, if all lights are on... your basically in safety mode and anything can throw u in safety mode really... goto autozone and get it scanned. it can be something as simple as sparkplugs, if your tranny is going out usually d5 blinks or you'll feel the slippage.

any updates?

my vsa and the "!" lights have been on and off randomly since yesterday. i checked the manual and it says if this happens, it means the vsa is disabled and you should turn off the car and turn it back on to see if it still appears. it worked the first time, but it still comes on randomly.. the manual says check with an acura mechanic if the lights dont' go away even after an engine restart..

jSoong- since you are in Ca, parts stores are not allowed to scan codes for you anymore- its smog laws and a way for shops to make money for nothing

Buy a $100 scanner (parts stores still allowed to sell) or check the Meets section of azine for Bay Area events- many of those guys CARRY a scanner to the meets knowing someone will need help
One of them can probably meet up with you and figure out whats wrong
The lights just mean something is wrong- cant tell what without codes- and they are clues not diagnosis

dream- if you are late 03 production and officially `Not covered VIN` on trans extended warranty, you need to know if the recall for oil jet kit was ever installed

Also ask if part of the timing belt pulley recall

register with acura care- 1-800-382-2238x5 and ask those questions then PM me if you are having trans failure issues

for other details see the main Tranny Failure thread and `Goodwill`

hey guys,
i have the same problem with my 2005 Acura TL. The VSA, (ABS) and (!) lights are all on. They checked with a scanner and there was no codes. Yet the car won't even start. They checked the fuses, they're all good. The checked the wheel sensors, they seem good. They tapped up the brake fluid and it still won't start. Any suggestions???

^^ You might wanna try the 3G TL Forum https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-2004-2008-93/.
This is a 2G TL Forum 1999-2003.

"They checked with a scanner and there was no codes. Yet the car won't even start"
This would lead me to the TRS but that would trigger an OBDII Code, Ignition Switch? Faulty Key Sensor maybe?
