First post, so here goes. I'm the 3rd owner of a 2001 Acura TL. The passenger's side headlight only worked sometimes. I replaced the bulb, no change except the headlight was brighter when it was on. I now know it's most likely the ballast, so I bought a replacement one. I have the tools to do so, but I have no idea how to take out the headlight assembly on a 2001 Acura TL. There are NO tutorials for the 2001 model year, and 2002 models have the assembly attached to the bumper I believe. I spent a morning removing it to learn I had just made no progress. If anyone has a link to a video, diagram, or explanation, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

all modern cars are pretty much built the same way, ie; drop the front bumper to access headlights

Two bolts up on top of the headlight, and a few more on the bottom with the head facing the outside of the car. You'll need to drop the front bumper to get to those ones.
Afterwards, unplug the wires at the back and the headlight comes out! Ballast is mounted on the bottom with some big phillips screws.

almost... my old Genesis Coupe, I was able to pull off the headlights with just two bolts up top.

for the OP, there should be a few bolts that also hold the bumper bracket that also sandwiches over the headlight brackets. my 03 had one on the fender sides and two towards the middle of the car. Just follow the bracket under the headlight.

Although this says 2003, I think it's the same for our 2001s. You may want to get some replacement push clips before you begin.
