Climate Control Light Replacement

I bought a 2008 RL back in May. It was in the shop 3 times to get some of the lights for the climate control panel replaced. One of those lights went out again yesterday. I'd like to replace the bulbs myself but couldn't find detailed instructions on removing the trim around the panel (it looks like once this is done, only some screws need to be removed). I'd appreciate some help with this. Also, can LED's be used instead of bulbs for this? Thanks.

Maybe this will help:

If you use the Radio Shack bulbs, I'd be curious to know how they look. I just did my heated seat bulb and felt a little stupid paying $6 for a cheap little bulb. I also wonder if an LED can be used.

Thanks. I did see this post. Unfortunately, it didn't provide the details to remove the trim pieces around the climate control panel and the link in the post to the Honda website doesn't work.

It says in that link he provided to remove the radio assempbly, then remove climate control panel from the assembly by removing four phillips head screws that attch it to the radio. It then says to pry the cover away from the climate control unit and the control board where you access the lights is available. Hope this helps

I need help with the first step, how to remove the two silver trim pieces on either side of the climate control module and radio. I'm guessing they are just snapped in but I'm not sure how to remove them without breaking them.

Thanks HEAVY_RL! I did try searching Google and didn't have any luck. You just saved me another trip (or two) to the dealer.

I will be doing this as well next weekend. Did anyone figure out if you can use LED bulbs or something that lasts longer?

I replaced all of mine at once. Though they come in packages of 2 so I had to buy 6 from Radio Shack. Easy DIY fix. I didn't have to remove the leather trim on either side of the center. Good luck
