Rearview Mirror Replacement DIY
Ok so I keep seeing new threads pop up to replace the rearview mirror. I took picks when I did mine incase I was gonna do a write-up. I was bored so i figured what the hell.
TOOLS
Flat Head Srewdriver (thin head)
Phillips Screwdriver (standard size)
New mirror
Here we go! Can't see it here but this mirror was half blue half not. Liquid started to settle.
ONE
First step is is popping off the plastic lens that covers the map lights. Use the flat head at either of these two points and gentle pry it off.
TWO
Now its time to remove the screws holding the sunglasses/map light bin. Remove the (4)four phillips screws in these locations. You have to flip open the sunglasses tray to get to (2)two top screws.
THREE
Disconnect and remove the tray by pulling the white power cable (bottom circle). Disconnect the the blue power wires circled on the top. This is the power for the mirror.
FOUR
Removing the mirror. Now that the tray is out you can pop the mirror off by sliding the mirror off the bracket (circled). It takes a little muscle so be careful when removing. Then just pull the power cord out of the liner and your mirror is out!
FIVE
Install the new mirror and re-assemble the tray in reverse. Now you have a proper working mirror and you didn't crack the windshield, break anything, or pay the stealership to do it for you. Job well done!
