Question Moving From NJ to Boulder, CO. Need Advice

In late July/early August im going to be moving to the Boulder area and i need some advice on driving conditions in the area. I currently have a 2006 NBP TL, dropped 1.5" and have 18" chrome aspec wheels and at some point a full catback exhaust and aspec lip kit. Now my question is..Is my car a reasonable vehicle to be driving in Colorado, or should i purchase a bigger/AWD vehicle. Ive never driving outside the tristate area and i hate shitty roads with pot holes and scraping the bottom of my car. I get the feeling that parts of CO will destroy my car but than again, ive never seen the driving conditions there. If anyone can give me some feedback on this it would be greatly appreciated and if you live around there maybe we can cruise some time. Thanks

you should be okay. the roads are somewhat nasty sometimes but they do get to it (filling potholes with asphalt) if you plan on driving your tl during the winter seasons you want to put winter tires on...over here it gets hilly....last year i was stuck in traffic (hwy) 3 hrs cause cars couldn't get over a hill on the hwy...mainly tire issues...nothing else

Thanks for the advice. I had all season tires on this winter and couldnt make it up some pretty weak hills. Ill def remember that. For the first few months im gonna be living in Estes Park and from what ive heard theres a lot of dirt roads. Is that true?

It all depends on where in estes park your moving too...but i would say 80% of the roads are going to be paved, unless your in the camp grounds and shit like that. but other than that its nice. I would definately go with snows durring the winter too, had all seasons this year and i was ok(considering it only snowed twice).

Are you moving out here for school? I live about 15 minutes east of boulder in westminster.

I have family living out there and my father recently passed away so my mom wants to mover to Estes Park. Sadly i don't know exactly where we're moving but its right on the Estes park golf course. I've got a long ride from NJ to CO (36hr drive) but i know once i get there im gonna love it.

dude - I work in Boulder and I know you'll be just fine with your car here. Every once awhile we do get "hammer" with snow, but it usually don't stick on the major road that long.
