Update! Never heard word one from Rami! No attempt at making things correct for the customer. No refund to my credit card from the transmission and torque convertor that was returned for a core charge of $450.00.

I had the transmission rebuilt locally and the vehicle is back in service! running nicely. Visited the rebuilder today to take pictures of the replaced parts. Removed parts were newly installed. Transmission from Rami had been rebuilt. Problem was the servo body was warped causing the shift valves to not function properly. This was an internal transmission issue that Rami should have warrantied immediately as they promised! instead of dodging my calls and all responsibility. That is inexcusable as a service / parts provider.

It is one thing to entice people to purchase based upon a longer warranty period. In this case two years as opposed to the one year I now have. But if you never intend on making good on the warranty its really just a sales ploy to hook people.

The biggest issue that is just unforgivable is to be an outright crook and not return your core charge. That is just plain thievery. And there is absolutely no defense for it! The shipping manifests have been published here for all to see. There is no question that they received my transmission and have not credited my account. So in my mind they can make every excuse in the book why they did not honor their warranty, but how do you explain plain and simple stealing $450.00 from a customer for a refundable core DEPOSIT?

Obviously they cannot. They have come on this forum to defend themselves one day but cannot even resolve that one simple issue regarding the core charge. And they have not dared to come back because they have no answer.

It is really a shame that because they had a rebuild of theirs go wrong with a faulty servo body that they chose to blow me and my $1770.00 off and even in one post telling me to shove it! Is the reputation of their company really only worth a few thousand dollars?

I hope what they are starting to feel is the power of the internet and the sharing of information. One persons experience can make a difference. It will continue to be my goal to share my experience and spread the word that YS & D Engine and Transmission, doing business as Rami Transmission are without a doubt thieves. And I challenge them to disprove that fact.

If I can give you a word of advice, contact your state attorney general and explain the case to them. I have used the AG here in NY twice and they DO get results for you.

Good luck!

I also tried to correct the wrong with the credit card company but found that they can do very little other than disputing the charge. In the end there's a lot of frustration and little done about it with the credit card company. Document everything and try getting in touch with the AG. You'll be glad you did.

So the guy showed up to stand up for his company's name then never returned?!?!

Sorry, sounding like the customer is reasonable. And if you knew this site, you'd know that if the OP was a moron, he'd get ripped to shreds by the members here...

It could have though, if he had actually addressed your allegations and responded with what his solutions were rather than just saying you were just venting and their business is awesome.

^^ If they had taken care of business, refunded my core charge, and honored their warranty they would have had a chance. But since they did not have any answers or proposed solutions they were doomed. Its hard to understand a company doing business that way.

UPDATE! It took awhile, but Chase Visa came thru and refunded every cent I paid to Rami transmissions along with interest! Evidently the back up information I submitted could not be refuted by Rami! So happy that it turned out to be a learning experience without a large cash loss! Car is still working great with the local rebuild I ended up with! Live and learn, some things just are not ment to be done over long distances and on-line!

Awesome, glad to hear that you got satisfaction, shame it couldn't be from the vendor, but like you said...you live and learn.

Hi, I joined the forum yesterday by virtue of our two accords but in due course discovered this 2012 thread regarding an issue with subject shop. I got ripped off by them this year, almost the identical story as the OP. I wish I had all of the shop's "DBA's" before assuming their eBay feedback was "a good indicator", I would have seen these posts and others before making this gigantic mistake.

We have found others who have had similar issues and are in contact with the NY AG's office. I am happy to update anyone on this progress if (only if) there is interest. I would very much appreciate if pohljm could please IM me, if possible. Thank you!

Thank you for the IM attempt, because I am new they are limiting my IM inbox until I have five posts. I have cleared space this evening (I can have a max of two messages in the box at one time, including both sent and received). Please try again if you don't mind. Best regards
