Hey all. I'm in the process of moving from Central Jersey to Orange County, NY. I'm totally new to the area and would appreciate some recommendations for honest & reliable local mechanics and an Acura dealership. From what I can see, Feder's Acura is pretty much the only one around unless I want to drive to Jersey or Westchester County. Is Feder's any good? Any experiences there? I've been going to Precision Acura in Princeton for the last 5 years and they have treated me very well, so I will be sad to leave them. Hopefully I can find somewhere good up here.

Btw I'm in the Chester/Goshen area. Currently going back and forth on the weekends (but not this weekend...ha). Will probably be in NY full time at the end of March.

 

I know OC isn't exactly highly populated, but there's gotta be one person on here living there. Please tell me I'm not alone.

I live in Dutches County...not too far from you. I'm from Westchester County and I take the drive to Westchester and take my car to Curry Acura. My aunt is a manager in service and a good friend is a mech there so its worth the 45 min drive.

Hmm, thanks. I was hoping to avoid a long trek to a dealer, but I hear Curry is a good one. I'll look into it and see how far it would be as opposed to the one in Middletown. I will travel for good service (I've been doing that up till now anyway).

Orange county here too... I brought my first CPO TL from DCH Acura in Wappingers and their service dept was sub-par. After a few call to Acura Costumer Service, the sales department ended up doing the right thing and brought back my car and got me into a new 08 TL-S. I will not bring my car there for service.

I do hear good things about Feders in Middletown. Good luck with the move... PM me sometime and we can meet up.

 

I live in Middletown and take my TL to Feders...I fortunately know a salesman there AND the service manager. They're good. You might also want to try Formula H in Middletown...they work strictly on Honda/Acura engines. Let them know that Lehi (Lee-high) license: DARKNIT3 sent you. Ask for Chris in the service dept at Feders. Hope this helps!
