No that's not considered reckless driving. I've gotten 2 tickets for 33 over, and that still wasn't reckless driving. I believe 25 over is either 6 pts or 8pts. In my case, they were both 8 pts. Reckless driving should be 41mph+

OP you can use Weiss & Associates. They can most likely win the case or reduce it dramatically for you, totally worth it for the points.

What time of the day did you get the ticket? I always forget that the limit is so low there... I usually drive at a steady 55-60 on the FDR. I guess I should really pay more attention.

No lawyer advice but good luck with that regardless...

WTF? I grew up in Manhattan and still go there. Doing 65 on the FDR is normal. I've done that so many times. He must have had a quota or was having a bad day.

Anyway, find out where the court is and if no one here can recommend a lawyer, get one that works near the location of the court. They usually all know each other; the judge, the lawyers, the cops. It's the Old Boys Club. You won't get away with not paying $$$ but you can get away with the points.

I once got a 34 over the limit on the Taconic. I believe it was something like 8-12 points but NOT wreckless driving. It was a long time ago. Anyway, got a lawyer, no points, $100 fine.

Are you still going to hire a lawyer to fight the points? You probably should. Did you check the lawyers in my post above?

guys just to clarify, you can get wreckless driving for 1mph+ but its officer discretion, it is a separate ticket

edit: almost any ticket can be wreckless driving but cops dont write those tickets cause it probably wont hold up

It's not really court..you meet with the group of prosecutors and state your. I would delay it until you can find a lawyer your comfortable with. My lawyer delayed mine for 18 months, which is most likely why I got off.

Hey did you ever find a lawyer? First day I drove this car, I got caught at the BQE merge. This truck seemed like he was letting me go. I started moving. He started being an a$$. I got scared for my car and moved 2 feet over the double solid line. Of course I should've tried to merge earlier. =/

Almost 10 years of an immaculate driving record and I got two tickets this year within 2 months. I need some lawyer that will use all the loopholes in the book to get me out of this ticket. My friend's used to have this lawyer back then that delayed a ticket so long they eventually dismissed it.

bro if its your first time/first offense in court all you need to do is go talk to the prosecutor and they'll drop the points but you'll pay a lotta $.....you don't need a lawyer for a first offense traffic ticket
