I can't wait either!!! It's coming up fast. I'm coming from Seattle so all you Portland heads have no excuse not to show up!! I'm trying to get the other tsx's from here to roll out with me.
wow if people are caming down from Seattle. We locals have no excuse not show up.
its all about where you get your gas and how much additive is included in it.. ive noticed i get better gas mileage with 76 gas then shell and i get a hair better with chevron.. also there is a article somewhere about how cars burn better with lower octane then others.. i have to run higher octane due to my reflash which leans the car out and gives me a higher redline..

maybe im not understanding it right.. you filled up your TL with 85 gas? thats gonna hinder your gas mileage noticeably, thought it was your 95 legend you did it too.. which shouldnt be as bad.. but ya TL deserves the best gas it runs happier with it..
just a filter change wont do much need the cold air to go with it.. and if you do that figure on being rev happy for a bit cause you want to hear the intake all the time.

stay out of vtec, a cold air will help just dont be gunning it all the time, depending on the year of your tl (2008 or newer shouldnt need it) replacing the spark plugs.. not sure if you even mentioned a year of TL that you have but here could be a few things to do if its an 06 or older.. 07 is the borderline mark
an intake wont do shiz to your gas mileage. You'll be gunning it for the sound and even if you don't the difference is negligible. The trick to gas mileage is to follow a few simple rules that few of us follow:
1. Do not jump on the gas from a stop, ease it on.
2. Do not drive your car in manu-matic mode, leave in D for overdrive.
3. Do not slam the brakes, predict your need to stop and ease the brakes on slowly.
4. Try to keep RPMs below 3K at all time.
5. Run the recommended fuel grade always. If you have been running standard and then put in a tank of premium, don't expect a difference on that first tank, instead look for the difference on the second tank.
6. Avoid hills, utilize highways for everything. Driving at the same average low RPM will lead to better mileage
7. Try to keep your car running at optimal engine temp, a cold engine burns more fuel
8. Clean air filter and regular oil changes
9. Clean your fuel system, Brandon can give you pointers with Sea Foam
10. Replace your sparks if your car is getting over 50K in miles
11. Reserve A/C use for HOT days, not for unfogging your windshield.
12. Make sure you air pressure is what the sticker on the driver door jam states for your tires (if you're running OEM spec wheels and tires). Running low pressure leads to more drag.
13. Get hard tires or reduced friction tires (you know what they put on Prius's).
Follow all of that you'll notice a considerable gain in mileage. That's all referred to as grandma driving lol
