Yea i saw the link for it right after i posted that.
Ill wait on this one, especially since you have to drill into it to support the brackets for all the parts that bolt to the OEM bar.

I dont open my hood at shows at this point anyways.

but i think brackets aren't much needed. probably just zip tie them or jb weld the support rather than drilling them.

btw... saw this hot looking passat cc. think its optional lip kit from vw.

VR6 !?!? Only option i saw at the auto show for power train was the inline turbo 4.

The only problem is that it is still a VW...so that means it will break down sooner than later...

ahhh finally happened! pulled over for no front plate on my way home for lunch, lame.

Swear the cop thought I was some dumb ass highschooler on spring break, when he came back to my window he had to apologize for pulling me over for something "lame" but he already called it in blah blah, gave me a fix-a-ticket and a hand shake. Pretty nice guy really so I'm not bitching to much

Still we should just ban highschoolers from the road... lol

^^ no, he just said "did you know you're required to have your font plate on in Oregon?" I said "derf, no" and he said "ok, well get it back on your front end so someone else wont pull you over for it"

he was really nice though, so no skin off my nose, was doing his job. It's when you get police at are just rude or condescending that it's an issue.

Wow, front plate tickets all around. I just got home from Astoria dealing with my ticket.
The front plate ticket was dropped with a simple picture of it on my cell phone, and the tint is automatically dropped in half just because i removed it. Given the fact that the cop said she would drop the ticket if i showed her all the stuff fixed, i pled not guilty to the tint. So instead of going back for another court date, they have the option of me filling out a sworn statement and pictures of the car. So ill be sending those in soon, along with a copy of the receipt of Ron Tonkin doing the tint on the car before i owned it.

Worst case i pay 180$ instead of 350$
Best case i pay nothing and everything is dropped.

Well the paint should be free since they have to re-spray the trunk as it is. Just need to find out how much the molding of the CSL spoiler will be.

Just got back from Tualatin Auto Body....here is the damage.

-CSL Spoiler molded into the trunk would be $400-500 (more towards the $500 side) Paint would be free since the trunk has to be painted anyways.

-CSL Spoiler un-molded, just glued to the trunk is $95 Free paint, but there is a low spot in the spoiler that needs to be filled.

-Type-S front bumper $250 if i have it painted at the same time as the trunk.

Not too bad, the molded price is alot more than i wanted to pay but i know it would be worth the price. So now i need to decide if i can live with the lines or not.

couldnt you do double sided sticky tape instead of glue? least then if you want to sell the car you can pull the part off and sell it later..

it'll be lot more show worthy molded. or you can mold, sand, grind yourself and take it to shop just for painting.

I could tape it, but that is just that much more that the spoiler will "stick" up.
Also, the guy i work with over there said that the glue stuff sticks just as well as hardware. Which i will need for when the girlfriend forgets that its fiberglass and trys to open the trunk with it.

I got to thinking about it. $750 for a front bumper and molded trunk is not bad. Especially with the lifetime warranty.

True, but ill stick to mechanical shit, and leave the body work to the pros. If i had a metal version of the spoiler it would be super easy, and a shit ton cheaper. Maybe i can find a place to stamp some out, and get my money back selling them off on here.

--------------

Also, the guy who hacked up his ATLP Quads is selling them. Ive been getting hit with PMs about the tips i bought from him all day.

The sad part is....Hes using the ATLP name on the exhaust in the sale thread...with a price tag of 700$. I feel bad for whoever picks this up with how disapointed they will be with it.

that sucks to be that person...

I just found out about making some molds on parts.. so hopefully beginning summer i might dabble into some carbon layout.. if it turns out good then i will let ya know.. of course by then youll have your spoiler already put on so i guess that makes it useless? haha

3/4 of a trunk lid isn't gonna help me lol. I think I am going to go with the second skin stuff once my tax return rolls in. Thanks for the offer though.

Anyone here need a futon?

I have a wood framed futon that is in excellent condition I'm looking to sell. Mattress has springs in it so it doesn't get flat and hard spots like standard futon mattresses and stil folds into a couch etc... In other words it was a pricey mattress. Mattress color is black with no stains, mattress has no odors, wood frame is a light wood. Let me know if any of you are interested.

so i went snowboarding and know what i found out??? the TL doesn't have fold down rear seats yayyyy all it has is that center seat/arm rest thing with the tiny hole that i couldn't even fit the board through. i had to set my boards there and in between the driver and pass seat on my center arm rest.. good thing i got an auto lol
i didn't take my car up there but had to go to a friends house with 3 boards!! lol 2 side by side between the seats and the 3rd on upside down with the end of the board laying between the rear head rests poor leather...
