Ha my dad is a new construction home builder, I've been in the all my life. The worst part of it is the land acquisition and the initial permit process. Just to get a permit to build takes 10k and can take nearly 6 months to get. That's a bitch lol. Flipping is much easier, you just have to buy it right

UPS man delivered my new spyderco persistence folding knife. Awesome knife for thirty bucks on amazon. Shit is ridiculous sharp, much larger than I thought too, glad I didn't opt for the larger one.

Now wife must listen to constant clicking as a wing it open one million times lol

Yeah, I think we may go camping this year too, depends entirely on how Ellie starts doing outside of her own bedroom. So far, it's always been a no-go for her haha. Getting older though, so hopefully.

With your application you can specify days of the week that are better for you and they will try to accommodate that, but you'll wait longer than if you take whatever you can get

Guys, remember,
EVERY time a LEO runs your info the CCW will come up and they will be informed that you are licensed to carry.
In the city of Portland without a CCW you may not have a loaded gun anywhere in your car and you may not even have loaded magazines separate from the handgun. It must still be either visible or "not readily accessible." Otherwise Oregon has no State law prohibiting the open carry of guns.

ya the DMV lists it in your records.. but you dont have to inform the officer you are a hold nor do you have to tell them that you are carrying..

also you can drive with a loaded gun on the dash ( cause of the open carry law) but you cant put it under your seat loaded.. you can how ever place it in your trunk as long as its unloaded.. cause a trunk is considered a locked location

I disagree. I think anywhere in the car is off limits in Portland unless you and the boys are headed out of town to go hunting.
This is a good example of why we shouldn't have these stupid local laws.
What the hell is my buddy supposed to do when he drives from Hermiston to Seaside? Drive AROUND the city of Portland?

i had to re-read what you wrote.. for portland (the city) and (oregon city) cant have it loaded at any point unless you have a cwp.. but you can however carry an unloaded gun openly.. but.. what isnt mentioned is if someone feels threatened you might be cited for menacing depending on circumstances.

per oregonfirearms. org

Oregon has no prohibition on carrying loaded handguns in your car. But the state DOES allow localities to restrict loaded carry of firearms “in public places” which, oddly enough, includes your car.
If you are in a place like Portland or Oregon City that restricts loaded carry by people who do not have concealed handgun licenses, you may not have a loaded firearm in your vehicle. Furthermore, if it is a handgun, it must be carried openly or “not readily accessible.” That means if you have a trunk it must be there. If you don’t, it can be in a locked glove-box, center console or other locked container and if the container is opened by key, the key cannot be in the container.
Long guns do not have to be “not readily accessible” but if you don’t have a concealed handgun license and you are in a locality that restricts loaded carry it must be unloaded.

I have a friend who ALWAYS carries without the CWP. Even at the bar in Portland. That sort of thing is not for me, however it's comforting to know that he's got my back. Let us know what they teach/tell you at the class.

The penalty regardless of self defense or not is steep for carrying concealed without a permit...

As a long term cyclist, I must agree that there is almost a sense of entitlement that comes from some of the bike riders in downtown. As if they are somehow just another car. The sad truth is that someone on a bicycle is so very vulnerable when they ride along side/in front of automobiles.

Saturday we went on to the Helvatia Tavern and found the ratio of bicycle riders out there was 10 per 1/4 mile. There is no shoulder, the road is hilly and curved and the cars are traveling at 55+mph. Anyone coming apon a bike traveling at 10-20mph would do, and has done, signifigant bodily injury to the rider.

In today's world, no one is willing to accept personal responsibility for their own choices in life. So if they get hit by a car, it's not their fault.

The more I thought about it, the more that ^ seems reasonable. Take the Sam Adams bike box for example. Each green bike box costs about $15,000 to install. Why should I pay for that? New research has shown that they actually cause more accidents.

get a petition to add it to a ballat.. i will sign it.. i think there should be rules to it too.. you need to have a license for ATVs now why not bike riders? i see revenue.. and i think if a person is a daily rider they need a small plate on the back of there bike and get tags for it.

to add to it.. if it does show up to vote on i would register to vote just for it.. haha

When your options are limited to a choice between two evils, voting can seem like a letdown.

See: "choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich" -South Park

May the richest douche win.

Anyone else have trouble sleeping last night?

Chris, do you hear the mysterious "hum" that goes on night after night?
Kinda sounds like a big diesel delivery truck idling about three blocks away, but when I go outside I can't find it. Keeps me up at night.
Damned Mole People!

Could be the voices in your head?

Honestly though, we can sometimes hear a hum or like a low rumbling much like a car subwoofer driving by with no car in sight.

Never hear it at my parents house in LO...

For a while we tried to get our paper delivered by bike messenger. Poor girl, it took her like eight trips to bring us 90 boxes. Bikes are great. But there are limitations to the mode of transportation. I'm sure that some amount of street riding is nessessary to get to your destination. However, there is no reason for someone to ride there bicycle on a major thoroughfare/roadway. Last month I passed a bike on HWY 26. Dude, you can't ride a fucking bike on the freeway, period.

I was going to ask, but figured you'd been on hold for one reason or another. I have some buffing to do as well.

The passion has gone. I just don't have the desire to keep the cars up to the standards I once held. Possibly because they both need paint/body work.

GAWD, if I ever see that little old lady in the Buick who hit the TL...

is your vehicle a stick or an auto? if its an auto i hope you have alot of money to waste.. if its a stick currently then you will need to know if the bolt holes and stuff will line up.. might be better off just doing a complete engine swap with the tranny included then all you have to worry about is the wireharness... it will be cheaper that way but still expensive

dont know anyone around here that will do it cause of the time needed to do it plus the cost
