Tinted Window Ticket

Got pulled over for my 20% tinted windows about 3 weeks ago in Berkeley.

Ticket just came in at $208. (less than I expected actually)

Just venting I guess, or giving everyone a heads up.

My wife just got one for her civic 2 months ago driving to Fresno. Luckily we have a SJPD officer in the family and one as a friend lol. We always get it written off without having to change anything. What i normally do now is if there's a cop nearby, I roll all my fronts down. SJPD is pretty chill about tint but anywhere else, i cannot say.

That's what I love about SJPD and most other surrounding areas. They're generally cool about stuff like that. I've had a motorcycle cop downtown in SJ turn his head towards my bumper (no front plate) and give me the "I notice, but I'll let it go" look and drive off, but so far I've never been pulled over for no front plates. My new ride... front side windows have dark tint (30%?), came with the car when I bought her used so I do that too... roll down windows without trying to look obvious.

How much is it to get tints removed for the front side windows? Seems like a pain in the stinker to do yourself.
