i did a semester of OChem independant study in UG.....directed catalytic iodocyclization of dicyclic structures....i pretty much took a cyclohexane ring with a long chain alcohol on the end, and used a LAH reduction as well as a iodine catalyst to try and direct the formation of the second ring into a predetermined enantiomer.......i got so little at the end that NMR was useless.....six months for nada.

I hated chem after that, and focused on pathogenic bacteria

 

his PPD will jump from 2.96 posts per day to 30 posts per day.

 

He'd probably make stuff up and get Jeff banned...
