take your time hitting the studs, make sure you predrill the hole, make sure you hit the center of the stud.

if you dont hit the center of the stud, you risk splitting it, if you dont predrill, you risk snapping the lag bolts.

have someone help you when you're marking the holes and make sure the mount is PERFECTLY level. if its off by a tiny bit, it'll be noticable enough when u get the tv up there. use a long level, the ones built into the brackets suck, short ones are okay but the long ones are far more accurate.

if you need help/tools, let me know, i have pretty much everything you'll need. i must have mounted at least a dozen tvs for people i know.

oh, and buy your mount from monoprice.com

Any particular reason for choosing monoprice.com?

best buy price for full motion wall mount for 60" tv = $5-600

frys price for similar mount for 60" = $400

monoprice price = $73.xx (just bought it for my uncle 2 days ago) almost 200 reviews on this one mount and its rated at 95% +
also bought him a 25ft HDMI cable that is MAD THICK (22awg wires inside) for $24.

every cable they sell is priced so low you'd want to shoot yourself for ever buying from anywhere else.

god knows how in the hell Monster is still in business. my 10year old wire coat hanger could probably do the same job as any monster speaker cable.

Ah cool. Yeah the mount I was looking at was around $200 but I guess I'll shop at mono instead. My main concern was the quality of the mounts so I guess I'll read up on the reviews.

And 22 gauge wire is thick? Monster is still in business due to their marketing and "boutique" prices.

22 gauge is thick considering how many individual wires there are INSIDE the cable plus all the plastic shielding around each. thicker cables are needed when you're making long runs like i am at my uncles house which is about 25ft, and this wire is going to be inside the wall so you want something thicker with more shielding as well.

the mount im about to put up in my uncles place for his 60" sharp aquos lcd can handle 175lbs according to monoprice but the tv itself weighs like 115 i think. i've mounted a 42" 10ft up a wall at one place. mounted a 58" plasma on a false wall, plasma are a shit ton heavier than LCDs too. just make sure you hit the studs in all 4 locations of the wall mount and you'll be fine.

if you're not 100% sure on the stud locations then try this...

use a strong magnet (like the ones inside any old busted hard drive) and run it along your walls slowly, it should catch on any screw in the drywall, that'll give you an idea of where the studs are, find several screws along that same vertical area to confirm there is a stud there. then if you want to be even more sure... do what i do... take a long thin nail and hammer it into the wall every .25in till you hit both edges of the same stud, then mark the center point between the edges and begin drilling. all the little holes will get covered by the mount anyways.

if you go on monoprice, the mounts will tell you how much weight they can handle. The 32" in the room is really light since its an LCD, but I remember that it would be able to hold my kuro if I ever wanted it to and that things like 70lbs or something. I think my mount is rated up to 90lbs.

any of you guys ever watch "The Machinist" ? with christian bale? it came out in like 04 or something. man that guy lost a TON of weight for the movie, he only weighed like 120 and looked deadly thin. theres a few scenes where he is shirtless and you can see every bone in his ribcage. scary thin.

that's a pretty good camera, canon makes some of the best P&S cams IMO. I think I got that one for my mom earlier this year, she loves it. I like that it does 720p video.

I wouldn't buy it from best buy though. Amazon currently has a deal where you can buy the cam and get a free 4gb kingstone card and they have it for $199.99
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-SD780IS-...0415478&sr=8-3

no tax and free shipping from amazon. If you want to wait it out, it might go on sale again. It was on sale last month for $180.

get the extra battery from here for $12, although I dont think you'd ever need an extra battery with a P&S:

Ah I see, didn't realize you were running it that long.

Looks like a solid camera to me. Just about almost every P&S that Canon makes is pretty spot-on. You could still go a little cheaper (if you wanted) and still get a great camera. My girlfriend has the SD880 IS and totally loves it.

I dunno if you saw the one at my house but I got this one

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

they messed up and sent me the next higher up one that supports more weight though. IIRC, overnight shipping was cheaper than the reg shipping for some reason.

I needed the arm that extends out though. If you're just mounting it on the wall in your living room and dont need it to swivel/extended then I'm sure that mount will work just fine.

yea i ordered the more expensive version because according to them, the cheaper one's arms are made of hollow steel whereas the higher priced one is made of solid aluminum which they say doesnt flex as much if at all. kinda need that for a 120lb 60" tv, lol.

Sup guys, back in norcall.. finally.. after being 12 hours on the road..

anywho.. what a crazy night.. I got my tires remounted/balanced at this one shop in socal @ around 5:00PM, picked up my friends from LA and then we head back up to norcal..

I was almost home when my car all of a sudden started shaking really hard.. then it just gave.. My steering wheel started shaking really hard and it sounded like i was rolling on my wheels(19'' volk te-37s). Luckily I pull over to the side safely. This was at 1-2AM(4-5 hours ago). I come out, my wheels are on my fender/fender is messed up. NExt thing you know, i looked at the lug nuts. NONE WERE LEFT ON THERE... I looked at the studs, all shaved off. Looked at the centerbore/hub of the wheel.. 4 shaved off, 0nly 1 left standing....

Got a tow truck there in around 40 mins. or so, and towed it back home..

Now the guy said that maybe the shop tightened my lugs way too hard and stripped it. The wheel shows that one of the lug nut holes were moved around(making the car shake a little).. ANYWHO.. What do you guys recommend me do now? This shop had 5 star ratings and the guys there were very nice. I still remember telling the guy "Man, you guys work really fast." And the next thing he said was "yea, these guys were trying to get out as soon as possible".

What should I do next? I will def. call the shop tomorrow. I even have the receipt. What questions should I ask them? etc etc.

TIA guys.

I can't sleep so I just had to let this out.

being nice doesnt mean shyt if they f'd up. dont ask any questions, TELL them what happened and make sure they cover all repair costs because from the sound of it, it's all on them anyways since you literally drove it out of their shop and it happened

Tell them what happened to your car and that you had to get it towed. If they did the job right in the first place, it wouldn't have happened to you at all. They should be responsible for all the damages incurred as a result of their mistake and you won't get what you want unless you're assertive.

Of course you have to ask yourself how you were driving and if there was any possibility you could have been a partial cause to the issue. If not, it seems the shop is at fault, despite how nice they were. It also doesn't help their case if they stated that they were trying to get out of there as soon as possible.

Good luck in whatever you do.
