All Cali Acura Fest 2016!! Let's discuss/plan

Hey everybody,

I was looking at the all cali acurafest thread the day and was thinking...why not try and get together some ideas and plan one for all of Cali for next year again?

Starting to plan and exchange ideas now will give us time to be ready by 2016.

I know it takes a lot of meeting and planning and not that many people are active nowadays but this would be a good opportunity for the north and south parts to come together for those who are are still active and also those who don't attend meets as much..

This would hopefully give some people incentive to want to come out to a great event and enjoy an awesome meet with great cars.

The pismo beach meet was a good turn out but it fell apart once we all got together with nothing to do lol. I would love to take the lead on this next meet but i will need some help of all of you guys with ideas, dates and place so i can see if there is something we can all do as a group.

cant hurt to get the ball rolling on this now so lets see what ideas yall have!

Thanks

Jr.

I would be down for a meet. What about doing something in Monterrey/Carmel? That way the SoCal people dont have to make the drive all the way to SanFran or further North as that will allow for better attendance.

Sacramento to Pismo Beach = 302 miles
San Diego to Pismo Beach = 299 miles

There's a reason it's been held in Pismo Beach more than once. If there are people who want to attend who live further north of Sacramento, that can be taken into consideration. Otherwise, Pismo Beach is dead center.

I was just there for ATVing. Aside from the large trucks with the confederate flags waving, it's a nice place!

I down for it. Pismo is a great place but we need to secure a place that we can all park and BBQ. I think that it needs to be a one day meet and that it needs to be scheduled during a day where its not going to be raining. It makes for a bigger turn out and peeps don't have to worry about spending a lot of time having to clean their cars at the Chevron station. These are my thoughts, what do you guys think.

PS. We need to advertise the meet in our signatures to get maximum participation from fellow Aziners who otherwise may not know of the thread.

I'm down for a Nor Cal meet sometime. We can meet up at peer 39 (or another cool spot) in SF and cruise out to Santa Cruz. Perhaps make a few stops on the way for pics, organic food and good conversation! What do you guys think?

Is there an easy way of notifying everyone listed on the Nor-Cal Roll Call list. Just to everyone know.

i see threads getting hundreds of views with no one talking.

I am new to Acurazine, but did look/comment at the 2015 meet. I still haven't quite figured out this site, so I had no idea there was a "Regional" section until someone (Thank you aztec209) replied to my post in the 2015 meet. I am interested in a meet to attend as well. Pier 39 and a road trip to Santa Cruz sounds like a good day (weather permitting of course) for a NorCal meet. And while I have never been to Pismo, I bet it is a perfect location for an All Cali meet.

I think someone just need to schedule something and let everyone know to be there.

How is everyone's availability in Late Feb?

And how about this place in Fremont for norcal folks?

we had a pretty good turnout back in 2008 for a meet i helped organize at Oceano Park, near pismo. it has a big bbq pit, tables, park for kids, basketball, etc.
here are some photos from that meet Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

the park is kinda square shaped (well, four sides..) so you all just park on the curb surrounding the park.

it's $99 for group day use for the sparrow group BBQ area
i clicked on a random date in march San Luis Obispo County Parks Online Reservations

we've had our big yearly subaru meet at quarry lakes which is down the street a few times. that last one was just months ago. but we have a couple hundred cars, and a LOT of people. the organizers go through a ton of planning with the park staff and people in charge to make it all happen and get the permit approvals for our group.
since our group is so big, we have to get two of the pavilion sites to accommodate the people.
the cost is very very high.

lake elizabeth is just as nice, with picnic areas ranging in the $115 40 people up to $1000+ 350people.

Would you be willing to help out for this years meet. I am willing to help. That year was one of my favorites. A lot of people showed up and we all eat alot though parking was limited. There were more cars then what the park could handle but we could use the same park again. As well as plan on a cruse, a planned route so everyone can join.

Okay guys,

Sorry I've been really busy with work and life as most of us are. So I would like to get back on track.... I would like to have both NorCal and SoCal Acuras meet up and would like to ha e a even miles/drive time for everyone.

We did Pizmo beach last year but it fell apart I would like to do Pizmo beach again if everyone agrees if so all we need now is to set a date and time more than likely it would be a one day meet or two depending on who would want to come a day early

naw, i can't do that kind of thing right now. just spent 31 days in the hospital after my 4th digestive surgery. so i can't fully commit to anything big. just gotta play things by ear for a a bit while i adjust to being able to eat food again

I hope that I can go. i want to do a lot more camping, kayaking, all kinds of things this year. but with me, all that depends on my crappy health going up and down all the time.

I think most of the people on the Nor-Cal Roll Call thread have moved on. We used to be pretty active on AZ in 2009-2010, but I don't see many people posting anymore.

I like how Tidelands Park looks like but it would depend on how many cars it will accommodate. There are many great places near by that would be perfect for pictures.

it fell apart because the lead person parted out and sold his car leading up to the meet date....once at the meet place it seemed that the UA squad guys didnt want to do much....

I think we should just set the date (June 18 is perfect) and just ask for peeps to add their name if they are going and see what happens? You and I just have to pick a good place to meet. Nothing else for anyone to do other then just show up unless they what to BBQ.

I think it will be a good idea to have this list so we know who is going to go.
Just put your username and your location under your region, I'll start:

NorCal Caravan
1. Aztec209 - Turlock
2.
3.

SoCal Caravan
1.
2.
3.
