Oil Motor

Good morning In my city is very difficult to get 5w20 synthetic oil, it would be a good idea to change the viscosity to a synthetic 5w30 also ?, it is 38000 miles, or I try to get the viscosity indicated by the manual, the oil I use is Mobil 1. Thank you

There's a lot of debate on this subject. I believe it's best to stick with the oil that the manufacturer recommends. I have, and I've never had a problem. However, it's not uncommon to go with the next viscosity up if your car is burning oil or the engine has high mileage. Some use thicker oils in the summer as well, in order to mitigate the thinning of the oil due to heat.

Most would agree that going one grade higher isn't going to hurt anything. I wouldn't go much higher than that though.

Thank you friend, the next option I have in mind is to use the oil that sells the car agency, but I do not know if it exceeds in quality to mobil 1, had an accord 2008 previously, also V6, the engine is practically the same as the one of the Acura and always use 5w30 mobil 1, in my country it is difficult to get the mobil 1 5w20, so my doubt. Thank you

I am from Mexico, from Zacatecas, I have not been able to get 5w20 mobil 1, I say the distributed that even does not mark it as a part number is its catalog, which is commercial is the 5w30 also synthetical and in mobil 1, I do not know if It is a bad option to go up to viscosity 5w30, thanks!

In summer we reached 95 degrees fahrenheit, in winter until 14 degrees farenheit, the only doubt was that by increasing the viscocity would not reach the corners of the engine and lubricate well Because they do not sell 5w20 my plan is to use 5w30 mobil 1 and for filter I will use the wix 57356XP Comment if it is a good option and if I do it without worries Thank you
