Hello All
I am new to the Acura lifestyle, and I am reside in Virginia. I recently purchased a 2003 TL with 113,000 miles and am enjoying it. I read about the tranny problems the vehicles have and got a little worried. I have no mods on the car, I have added a Pioneer double din to the vehicle and I am about to install a rear camera. I hope to learn a lot about my vehicle from this forum.

Welcome
The 2002-2003's had a lower rate of transmission failure than the earlier years of the 2G TL. However, I'd strongly consider doing a 3x3 flush of your fluid using Honda DW-1 ATF. I forget the exact reason for failures on those transmissions. But changing the fluid would renew the additives that help prevent varnish buildup and adequately lubricate the transmission. The DW-1 is superior to the old Z-1 that was in those transmissions originally and from what I've heard, has resulted in lower failures once it's swapped in place of the old Z-1. If the transmission is slipping, it may be better to leave the old stuff in there since the clutch material in the fluid may be the only thing keeping it alive, due to the increased friction it's providing. But if it's functioning just fine, I'd do the 3x3 ASAP.
See the following thread if you have questions on the 3x3 "flush":

It's essentially a case of doing a drain/refill three times (driving a bit in between to mix it up). There isn't a practical way of flushing a Honda transmission like you would an old Chevy or something. Doing that will kill the tranny. Don't let some place like Tanner transmissions touch the thing. There are all too many stories on here of guys doing a traditional flush, unaware that it's a big , and killing their transmissions.
