Welcome to the community. The 2003 TL Type S is a great choice, especially with its strong V6 and comfortable ride quality. Keeping up with regular transmission fluid changes and timing belt service is very important for long term reliability. Yes I have a 2003 Type S too! It feels amazingly comfortable and modern to drive. The engine is a beast! :-)

Motor

Motor still strong. Had timing belt, valve adj and all front seals. Including oil pump done about 5k miles ago. New headlights, fog lights and wheels before retiring from dealership
