are the transmissions on a 02 tl really a big problem and would it be ideal to put a 6 speed out of a cl in it?

 

1) If you have a failing factory automatic transmission and you want to replace it with a reliable transmission, the thread below offers the best alternative.

2) If you are mechanically inclined & want to 6speed swap your automatic TL to a manual transmission you should first obtain a 'donor' car, since many CL-S6 parts are discontinued and not available.
That way your probability of success is higher since the donor car will supply what you need.

3) Otherwise, stick with the automatic AV6 swap listed in #1 above.
