So now that im back in CT for the summer, I was thinking about getting some Bi-weekly meets going and I definitely think it will be easier to organize now that there is a regional section. The place I have in mind is about 8 minutes outside of New Haven and right off the Merrit parkway (CT-15)

The place I have in mind is called Heav'nly Donuts, There is plenty of parking, and in the past they have been very cool with car meets (infact corvette cruise nights meets there every wensday night of the month) I chose here because its about 40 minutes from stamford, and 40 minutes from waterbury, pretty much smack dab in the middle of southern CT..

So I havent determined a start date, or a day of the week to meet because I want to know what works for everyone. im pretty flexible, although come july i wont be able to make it friday-sunday..

How does tuesday's @ 530 work for everyone?

 

hmmmm, post up an address for this place so people (like me) can see how far it is. Also 5:30 is a bit early imo, most people work till 5. You may wanna go with 6:30, just a suggestion

but I think 6:30ish would be better for everyone, besides it's dark out till like 8:30 anyways so we'll have plenty of time for a mini meet.
let me see how far this is from me and I may come out one night. It's prob like an hour tho so I won't come out too often. Maybe some of the other CT ppl who live closer will come out more

Oh hey man, you know during the summer they have the car shows weekly on Sundays. They have classics on one side and new age on the other, and another section for bikes.

Just to make sure you're talking about the place near the McDonald's right? Its near Rt. 8 as well.

 

yeah exactly the same place, but those shows are always incredibly over crowded, and the people there tend to be not to nice (at least from my experience)

so i figured why not start our own thing..

 

I see what you're saying, we could also just park outside of that lot at the big shopping center thingy, I forget what it is now, it used to be Kohls or something. Then afterwards we can get some BK.

 

My only issue is the time and day, I work all day on Tuesdays.

 

yes we could do that too.. does sundays work for anyone else? and now, its walmart, adams, cvs.. a bunch of places haha. but yes, the parking lot is HUGE

Well let's come to a consensus about this, do we do Tuesday nights, I can get them off if need be.

Bi-weekly meet in Derby, sound good 32 miles from me about an hour drive i might come once in a while. Weekend is much better but all depend on every ones.
Keep on up dated, when do we start?.

good point Carrie, I think more people have the weekend free. The classic guys already started showing, drove by on sunday and saw a bunch of them out there.

Well they still have the car show there on Sundays which have about 50 or so cars, I saw a late model NSX there once, but not really many imports.

 

was there today. so many nice, older cars, some modern "muscle" cars, bunch of lifted and worked trucks. lets start an import gathering! and yeah there was probably 60-70 cars and 100-200 people around.

 

ive seen some pretty sick cars there in the past

haha i wasnt planning on it.. i had to pick up some new painters whites as i ripped my old ones and just happened to drive by! this sunday is the CT vtec meet, but the following one i will be in attendance..

i was there on sunday too, id be available to meet on sundays i live in shelton and go to that show pretty much every weekend

 

so i just realized, the 21st is fathers day.. looks like it wont be till the 28th for me.

 

I'd be able to come down every once and a while from MA if it was on Saturday or Sunday. Tuesday won't work for me since I'm kinda far away.

There's a meet tomorrow in Shrewsbury, MA. I think a bunch of people from CT will be coming up for that.

 

well i showed up, didnt see a single acura. was pretty beat so i left, not that big a tunr out today, even for the classic car guys.. im sure next weekend will be huge

 

i went there at like 415 and didnt see anyone so i left

 

yea most of the CT crew was at the candy meet in MASS on Sunday. Ill definitely come out to this another day tho

 

went there again yesterday but nobody showed haha it was a huge turnout as far as classic cars though
