How is it that Graham Rahal is racing in both Chay mp Car and IRL ?
I'm not familiar with the rules of these leagues. Graham Rahal won the IRL race (St. Pete) a couple weeks ago, but wasn't racing at Twin Rings Motegi last night. I noticed today he's racing in the Champ Car race in Long Beach today.
How does someone go about racing in both leagues in the same season? How do the rules work in these leagues as far as who gets to race in each race? (ie; if i had a few million dollars and some sponsors can I build a car, hire a team, and try to qualify for any IRL race i choose? if I did qualify for let's say next weekends race at Kansas, would i be racing with the big boys [and girl] on tv?)

All the races in 2008 will run with the IRL formula, meaning the Dallara-Honda combination. The only exception was the Long Beach GP, which ran with the Panoz-Cosworth. The reason was because the 'merger' happened at the last minute, and they were not able to reschedule Long Beach or Motegi, forcing the league to run both races on the same weekend. That's the only reason why the Panoz-Cosworth is even being used this year.
