good race. It seems like the start of this season we will be seeing a lot of different podium finishes. I'm surprised at Mclaren's lack of pace though...

Yup. Looks like the teams will need to learn the new tires all over again.

McLaren? I don't think they have enough time to ship last year's car to Malaysia and have it ready for this weekend.

What do you think about Vettel's pass on Webber? Looks like a bad move on Vettel's part if the team decided with the drivers before the race that they would have team orders. OTOH, Webber was pretty naive to think that he was safe, especially after the past incidents between the two.

I feel like the team has some blame in the outcome as well. If they had told them both to maintain pace and bring the cars home, and clearly Vettel's ignoring their direction, that could have at the very least radio'd Webber to tell him that Seb's on the hunt. But instead the left him out there blind until his mirrors were full. They could have said Seb's charging, you have enough fuel so get going if you want it. They could have avoided the situation all together but instead it feels like that had a small hand in it.

Webber should have fend off Vettel's attack, using all means, even if that may result in both DNF; just like Senna and Prost did for their McLaren team back in 1990 Suzuka.

^ True but you have to keep in mind this all happened on the tail of the Australian GP, where both these teams had big issues with the tires. This time around they wanted to be really careful, they had no way of knowing whether the tires would just fall apart in the last two laps.
Personally I like to see teammates racing against each other, but when you have millions on the line...

I was thinking along the same lines. Looks like a lot of Vettel-haters are out there right now saying that Vettel was in the wrong for ignoring team orders. However, do you think Senna or Prost would have ever followed team orders to stay behind their "teammate"? I don't think so. If you want to be world champion, you race to win.

Williams names daughter Claire deputy team principal
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/21954920
I expect her to take over as team principle in 2013 or 2014
Williams also has a son although involved with the team not to the extent his sister is.

No surprise.
The only team (Ferrari), which has competed every year since F1 began in 1950, ought to deserve some special respect and special treatment.

Special respect maybe, but special treatment? It's not sporting if one side has an unfair advantage than the other through means other than merit. This is one of the reason why I hate Ferrari.

^ +1, totally agree. Ferrari behaves like a diva when it comes to the F1 business, sporting and tech regulations and cry and whine like a spoiled child when they don't get their way.
