My paper opinion at this point is leaning towards a G35x auto with Navi, or an Evo X MR. Granted, this is just from my research and looking at reviews online.

Test drives, and prices may ultimately dictate what happens. Plus, whether the wifey gets a job soon or not. The Evo, I would only accept an '08 or newer which are running mid to upper 20's. I'd take an 04 or newer G, which can be had for low teens - which really is one hell of a bargain. If I could get into a TL without having to get an '09 - I'd probably do it in a heartbeat. But with the new styling, and having driven the new style, I can say they've lost me.

I drove a new TL and I can definitely agree with you there. New TL just doesn't inspire me like the older style did.

My suggestion for the G, look for an 05. Little things that they upgraded about them make it worth it. Intelligent key, electronic steering wheel controller, a little button on the trunk to pop it, etc. They can be had for around the same price as an 04 as well now.

If your looking 08+Evo, check out an 07+ G lol very fast. Thats what I am looking at, just with a 6spd. I think theres actually a couple 07s on carsoup for around 18-19. But for low teens, hell, the first gens are still great cars.

Maybe we will see you over on the G side this summer lol our club grew immensely this past summer and winter. We have a LOT of new members.

Glow, I would acquire a RWD or AWD high HP power machine and keep your truck as your DD. A convertible would be nice, but from a performance standpoint that's just unwanted extra weight. You can never go wrong with good 'ol American muscle

My bro has a 300... they suck gas and handle like a boat Nice cruising car (gotta love that AWD during the Winter) but I would consider a different performance car.

I am still trying to find some new shoes for my '06 Jeep Liberty. I do not want to lift my KJ for different reasons. Thus, it appears that my only option for wheels are FWD alloys All the RWD wheels I have looked at won't fit without a lift. I would love to acquire some Cragars, but this option seems unfeasible. I am going with 16" wheels since I just bought new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires [LT245/70R16/D] in September. I want my new wheels to have a black finish. I also want to avoid giving my Jeep a "car look". I am considering the Motegi Racing MR121. Thoughts/opinions?

The only downside to keeping my truck as a DD is that I'm only getting 11 MPG's with it. I do a lot of driving for work, since I support Fairview from Prior Lake all the way up to Milaca/Chisago/Wyoming etc. I'm using on average about $30 a day in gas. And without getting into the politics of it all, I do not get reimbursed for mileage from my employer (I do get some, but it's not even half of the federal .49)

I kind of figured the 300 could potentially be a boat, I guess I'm not sure how it goes with the Hemi in it though. I'm not hell bent on getting something that rides on rails, but I don't want to make the mistake of all show, no go either.

As for those wheels, I'd almost see if you can find some pictures of them on a bigger vehicle. With just a pic of the rim, I'd say you're treading into car wheel territory there.

It seems as though your just looking to have a nice looking car with some power. Don't worry about having tons of horsepower since your not really going to do anything with it anyway. What i mean is, your not going to be taking it to the track every weekend. Get something that rides comfortable yet has some get up and go. The EVO is more performance than comfort. IF a DD is more of a concern for you, then i would suggest keeping your TL (Im assuming you have a TL, I have a horrible memory) and trading in your truck for something that gets better gas mileage. Bottom line, I suggest doing something that will help your family. You say your wife is out of work and if she is anything like my girl she would kill me if I got another car while she is out of work and there is no second income. Getting a DD with better than 11mpg will save you guys some money. Your young yet and got plenty of time to get more toys later on.

Has anyone gone to the dealer for A brake fluid flush, coolant flush? I'm going to need these done this spring and just wondering what you've paid. I want to switch my brake fluid over to Motul 5.1, but I'm thinking the dealer is going to not want to do it because I'm not using whatever Honda/Acura use.

Talking

Hey Glow well my advice is go with what you think is practical for you. To many opinions will make things hard for you. I had to make that decision after my car wreck, and I took my time. Go to this site Donohoo auto they have all the cars that you have been talking about G35, BMW, Audi, etc. they have great prices better than any dealer in the Twin cities. You might have to fly to Birmingham thats what I did and save $10,000.00 on mi TL-S. All they have are quality vehicles. I almost bought a 335i coupe.

Headed tomorrow to take a 2007 G35x for a test drive. Fully loaded, with Navi. With my trade-in (decided not to keep the truck) - it can be had for under 10k, which would put my payments under $200 a month. Definately affordable.

I'm excited! Only thing that sucks is I got rear-ended last night in my truck, so I'll have to get that fixed before trading it in. It looks as if I just need a new rear bumper/mounts. They quoted me $860, obviously not payable by me.

Perfect timing on the accident! Maybe that's the Universe' way of telling you not to sell it?

So G, does this mean that you have to change your screen name? Or are you getting another G to replace that one? I know that when I sold the Scoob it was a sad day in Mudville.

Will there be an Acura get together this spring somewhere in the metro? I'm new to owning an Acura TL and would like to meet up with fellow owners...there's a lot I don't know about these cars that I could use advice on.

*That and I want to try to find someone to trade me an OEM exhaust for the after-market exhaust the previous owner installed on my TL.....too loud in my opinion.

Picked up my new ride this afternoon. It's an '07 G35x. Navi, fully loaded. It's got the keyless ignition, 30gig media drive, backup camera, and adaptive headlights (they turn when I turn)

Plus they made a lot of performance improvements in 07, like changing to 2 intakes, and 2 throttle bodies. Woot!

The meet sounds great but I'm not sure I'll get some of my stuff together before then. It would look half assed or something.

I have a 2005 A-Spec. I'm not sure what type of exhaust it is...can't find anything on the exhaust itself that would tell me who manufactured it. Had the oil changed the other day and they couldn't find anything on the underside while standing down in the pit. All they could tell me that whoever did it...did a great job. Haha

Once the weather warms up I should be able to get some decent pictures and perhaps someone on Azine will be able to tell who the manufacturer is.

Go to the meet. We can all help you identify if. It may not even be a catback exhaust system from a manufacturer, someone could have just put it all together themselves and had someone weld it. From the pics you posted it does look like a comptech exhaust just from looking at the tips. If it's to loud you can always add a resonator to it. I also have my stock exhaust laying around since I have the ATLP base exhaust.

Yea, I am just going to pick up an 07 with a 6mt. Got a good deal for the G so decided to take it and upgrade to one with a 6spd. Really excited. I want to do some driving events this summer. Now just time to find a car.

Congrats Glow! How many miles does that one have??? There was a guy looking at a black fully loaded G on Gdriver yesterday from Walser and it sold right out from under him haha

You gonna join up the forums? Depending on if your going to mod and all that good stuff. The HR motors sound pretty badass with dual intakes.

I bet that was the one I bought. lol. I found it Monday night, and bought it Tuesday morning. I'm pretty sure the dealership didn't know what they had (came from Honda) It's an '07 with 116k miles. Very high, but doesnt worry me. I got it for 14k, and they gave me 4k for my truck (which was rear-ended, and I'm still waiting for payment). So out the door I ended up getting it for 10k (really 9, but the other grand stays in my pocket).

It's got everything. The premuim, navigation, technology and wood packages on it. The salesguy didnt even realize it had navi when we took it out. Even with the mileage, the trade-in value listed on Edmunds was $24 (not 14)

I supervise ACT exams on Saturdays every other month. One of the dates this year is April 9th We should move the meet back one week to the 16th so I can attend Besides, this gives the roads more time to heal from the harsh Winter season What do you guys think...?

^^^ The more time between now and then the better. For me anyway. My heads are still at the shop and the new engine is yet to be installed. Never mind the fact that my ECU and clutch aren't due until sometime in late March.

Nevermind - we are both talking about the same thing. I'm reading the thread right now. Are you the wannabe6mt guy that keeps talking smack? It's a follow a'ziner, so be nice now that you know who owns the car. lol

Thanks , I'm aiming for the "clean" theme with the TL like how I had my old car: AV6 coupe. I cannot wait until Spring, so I can drop it like it's hot & throw on my old wheel/rim set-up along with spacers to make it flush.

KBB lists trade in value at 18K so you got a REALLY good deal brotha... congrats!

You should check into getting your headlights cleared. There are a lot of people doing it themselves, but I had JnC do it for me. The SSM with cleared lights looks sweet. I didn't have mine painted or smoked, just left it all chrome and put in a chrome/amber turn bulbs.

If you need help with your headlights, I'm more than willing to help out if you don't want to ship them to CT. I did mine myself, swapped out my slope shields for step shields, installed real ZKW lenses, custom fitted LED angel eyes, painted black and Osram 66240 CBI 5000k bulbs.
