Car may be totaled, new car thoughts...

So as some of you may or may not know my beloved TL Marilyn may or may not be totaled. Depending on what I hear back from insurance I may be looking for a new ride. Just wondering what the consensus is.

Good to see you're well enough to be on here posting. Looks like a rather nasty smash.

Consensus will vary depending on MANY factors such as price point, year/mileage and what your overall needs vs wants are. The new TSX to me, while attractive is not much better on gas over the standard 3g TL so personally, that one isn't even worth looking at (again, in my opinion) and a 3 vs a 5 series is more like fun vs classy business man look. I would, in order, go 3G TL, 3 series, 5 series, TSX if it were me. Especially if the TL is a type S. Good luck

The newest one with the least amount of mileage. That would cut the 5 series out right away based on your other options.

Damn, sorry to see

New car recommendations depend on exact year, model, and options. There's quite a difference between a basic 328i and a fully loaded 335is.

Well I'd have to keep the price under 12k. It has to be an auto (for the wife) and it'd be a 1g TSX preferably an 06+ if I went that route. I'm leaning towards the 3g myself. It would be daily driven and NOT a "project car" otherwise it'd be a k swapped CD/CB accord.

I found a 3g with Aspec kit locally for 11 I am very intrigued by.

Id go 3g for that price. If you were looking for a manual I'd say pick up my boy's type S. I'm selling my RL for 7k. Its an 05 and has 146k. have you checked out or like RL's?

It's got to be auto for the sake of the wife, who is banned from wrecking my future vehicles btw. I think an RL is a little too much car for me and doesn't really suite my style. I think even the 4g TL's are too big for my taste. Looking at the possible new car this weekend. *fingers crossed*

3g for sure

Just got a 2006 TL in Tysons Corner Virginia. Listed at 10,995 @98,000 miles. I got it for 9,000 and a 1999 toyota solara (value :1,000). Great car leather interior, navi and tons of other "luxury" features. BEST WAY TO GO!!!
