I have accumulated a few other vehicles throughout the years, so this one just currently serves as an additional commuter car.  I really need to simplify my life with fewer vehicles.

2. Are you the first owner? If not, how many owners were there (to the best of your knowledge)?
I am the "fourth" owner.  Previous (third) owner replaced the clutch and only drove it for 1-2 months before I bought the car.

3a. TITLE: Is it clean, clear,rebuilt, or salvage? If other, please explain.
Clean title, CA DMV registration valid until 04/02/2025.

3b. Do you have title in hand or it is being held by a lienholder?
In hand.

Owned and paid off.

6. TIMING BELT: If your car has a timing belt, and it is near or over 105,000 miles, or has lesser miles but is 8 years old or older, post if and/or when the timing belt was changed, and the mileage, and also if the water pump and tensioner were replaced.
Timing belt, water pump, and tensioner have not been replaced yet.  I am in the "change based on mileage" boat.  The car runs well and I do not drive it hard, so I had planned to do it at 100k mi.  Replacement OEM timing belt, tensioner, and water pump parts are all on hand and will be included in sale.  The car's serpentine accessory belt is also a bit worn, but the OEM replacement part will be included in sale, as well.

Hello everyone.  I have decided to sell my 2008 TL Type S: Nighthawk Black Pearl (NBP) exterior, Silver/Ebony interior, with 6 speed manual transmission. 

I have been hesitant to sell it (browsing Acurazine just makes it harder), but with several other vehicles and only a one-car garage, I really need to start letting some of them go.  Not getting much enjoyment from playing "musical chairs" with all the cars every week.

It has been a wonderful experience owning and driving this car, and it has been rock solid during my 9 years of ownership.  The 3G TL represents one of the best eras of Honda manufacturing, with excellent materials and top-notch attention to build quality (except the dash).

This car is completely stock except for an aftermarket flywheel which was installed by the previous owner.  It currently has approx. 85500 original miles, which may go up slightly with occasional local commuting.  It had only about 42000 miles when I bought it in 2015, and since then have put about another 43000 miles on.  The vehicle has always been registered in Southern California, and regularly serviced at Honda/Acura dealerships (most recently indy shops).

Despite some cosmetic issues (most of which I have fixed over the years), this car has been a reliable, powerful, and comfortable grand tourer.  It has never been smoked in, and the engine pulls strong, smooth, and quiet.  The clutch has approx. 43000 miles and does not slip, but sticks slightly at high rpms.  All four tires were replaced last year with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4.  I have both master keys, one valet key, all manuals, and some additional maintenance parts to be included in the sale (see below).

Please note that this is not a perfect, showroom-quality garage queen, so if you are expecting such, it may not be the car for you.  This car is for someone who wants to enjoy driving a reliable 3G TL-S with 6-speed manual and low(ish) miles, and can accept and overlook some general wear-and-tear expected of a 15 year old vehicle. 


Modifications:
No modifications, completely stock except for an aftermarket flywheel

Recent maintenance:
Aug. 2021: Hood struts replaced
Oct. 2021: Oil/filter change, replaced cabin and engine filters, tire rotation
Jul. 2022:  Front seat cushions reupholstered with synthetic leather (shop did a good job matching original silver color), center console armrest cushioning redone
Sept. 2022: Fixed curb rash on wheels
Nov. 2022: Battery replaced
Dec. 2022: Car developed terrible fading clear coat over the years, so I had it fully repainted in original Nighthawk Black Pearl (two-stage base coat / clear coat, plus color sanding and dent repair)
Jan. 2023: Replaced moonroof seal
Feb. 2023: All 4 tires replaced with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4
Feb. 2023: Oil/filter change, brake fluid flush, wheel alignment
Mar. 2023: Replaced front brakes/rotors with OEM brembo pads and OEM rotors, replaced power steering pump O-ring, power steering flush
May. 2023: Replaced hood latch
July. 2023: Replaced blower motor resistor
Dec. 2023: Replaced valve gaskets and intake plenum gasket
Mar 2024: Replaced fuse box (MICU) with new OEM part, Mobil 1 oil/filter change, new cabin filter

Known issues:
I believe in transparency with used vehicles, and the below are all the known issues (some are common for the 3G TL):

-Dash has a few cracks.

-Shop advised that rear shocks are worn.  Car drives fine and does not bounce or bottom out, so I have not replaced them.

-Small crack in chrome trim piece above grille.

-Small tear in Driver upper seat back (taped in photos), RF Passenger lower seat back, and RR seat cushion.  Some dry areas in leather on FR passenger cushion and lower seat back.

-Right side power mirror actuator is a little glitchy.  It works, but may click erratically on adjustment. 

-Side mirrors have a bit of browning around lower edges.

-Front cupholder sliding cover was missing ever since I bought the car.

-Rear headliner sagging a little bit.

-Some wear on upper part of steering wheel leather.

-A few light cracks in trunk lid paint.  Only visible from certain angles.

-Some door seal edges are slightly torn.

-Car windows came tinted all around when I bought it, and since the beginning there was some bubbling in the rear windshield tint and scratches on the side window tint.  It never bothered me much so I just left it alone.

-Bluetooth HFL was disconnected by previous owner (due to battery drain issue).  I have not used it.

-Car came prewired with one of those dealer alarms.  Alarm is disconnected but wiring exists.

-Clutch and aftermarket flywheel have approx. 40000 miles; clutch bites well and does not slip in normal driving.  However, 5k+ rpm may result in some clutch pedal sticking.  Reverts back to normal soon after. 

Minor damage incident:
In Sept. 2017, the car sustained some minor damage in a hit-and-run when parked on the street in front of my workplace.  A delivery truck clipped the LF side, damaging the bumper, LF fender, LF headlight, side mirror, and part of the driver door.  No damage to frame or suspension, and paint/body repairs were done at Caliber Collision.

Electronics:
A few years ago I started having an intermittent issue with the alarm system where it would go off randomly whenever it was raining hard outside (there are a few threads on this issue: just look up "rain alarm" on Acurazine).  After trying several fixes to no avail, eventually had my indy shop pull out the whole MICU out to check.  They found no issues and no sign of water leaks, but I just went ahead and had them replace the entire MICU with a brand new OEM part, just to be safe.  No issues since then.

The A/C works well and blows cold very quickly.  All car electronics, lights, and radio/6-disc CD/cassette/navigation systems are fully functional.  Navigation DVD updated to the 2021 disc, which I believe may be the last version available for this car.
