Acura TL 2004 - 2008
Description:

2004-2008 TL-S headlights for sale. Both are usable, but both have some damage. I found these while cleaning out my garage recently, but since I sold my TL last year, these should go to someone who can use them! I'm asking $80 for the right headlight and $80 for the left headlight, or $150 for both.

Right Headlight (passenger side) - overall usable condition, lens in fairly clear, but this light has been opened and then put back together with gray sealant. Includes H9 bulb, but I can't test if it works. Does not include ballast/ignitor, or the plastic cover that seals the H9 bulb in place (generic ones are $5-$10 on fleabay).

Left Headlight (drivers side) - also in overall usable condition, but there is some damage to the interior black panel, where a 1 inch piece of plastic has broken off. I believe the overall headlight is still sealed, and this broken plastic is not visible as long as light does not shine through from the other side. There is some light hazing of the clear cover (could easily be restored), this light has also been opened but was put back together with black sealant. Includes H9 bulb, but I can't test if it works. Does not include ballast/ignitor.

I've tried to take pictures, but please let me know if I can send you others. Shipping isn't cheap - I'm guessing $20 per light, or $30 for both, within the US. I do have a good box to send them in.

Why would an OEM headlight have an H9 bulb in it? Lowbeam takes D2S and DRL is 9006...

I do not have a good answer to this question. I double checked and they are H9 bulbs....

UPDATE: Left (driver) headlight is sold. Right headlight still available. Make me an offer.

Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t headlight change between 04-06 and 07-08?
and are not interchangeable?

I was thinking the same thing; certainly for the U.S. spec cars there are fog lights in the main housing for the 2004-2006 model years and DRLs in the housing for the 2007-2008 vintages. That said, I suppose it is possible the housing is the same and just the bulbs and wiring are different; quite honestly, I've never looked it up.

They are interchangeable, however if you attempt to install these on the 04-06 you will need to buy 07-08 ballast/igniter.

Yes, the headlight is physically interchangeable, but to an extent. There are a few differences to be aware of though:

04-06 Headlights
DRL: N/A
Fog Light Bulb Size: 9006
HID Main Beam Bulb Size: D2S
Turn Signal Bulb Size: 7443
Ballast Size: Large ballast for 04-05, Small ballast for 06

07-08 Headlights
DRL bulb size: 9005 (If you use this DRL housing as an 04-06 fog light, you NEED to switch to an LED bulb or the housing will melt with 55w halogens. 07-08 DRLs are meant to run at half the power. If you use your fogs for more than a few minutes, your DRL housing will melt.)
Fog Light Bulb Size: N/A as these are located in the lower front bumper grills
HID Main Beam Bulb Size: D2S
Turn Signal Bulb size 7443 (1157 for 07-08 Type-S Models)
Ballast Size: Small ballast for 07-08

*Sometimes the smaller ballasts can fit on the 04-05 headlights with some fabricating and some zip ties. Fitting 06-08 ballasts on 04-05 headlights is much trickier.

will this fit in regular 06 TL? I have the fogs (not DRLs) in housing next to regular beams

Yes, it will fit, but it won't match if you only buy one. Read my post above explaining the differences.
