Hey guys, my CEL is telling me I need to replace my Engine Knock Sensor. I've read that if I get under the car it's pretty accessible and easy but if I do it from the hood I have to remove the manifold. Anyone with experience on replacing the Knock Sensor? How tough is it?

 

Someone must have replaced their Engine knock sensor!

 

i can see my knock sensor when I remove the intake manifold on a J32 engine.

That is actually helpful. My buddy at work swapped it out for me, he did it without removing the manifold but it was very time consuming so he may not recommend doing it like he did, just reaching below the manifold and it was a pain in the ass. So now that's replaced but my CEL is still on so now it's a matter of what else is a matter

 

^What CEL are you getting?

and yes, it would be super hard and tight to reach in and access the knock sensor on a 6 cylinder without removing the intake manifold.
