Introducing myself
Introducing myself
I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I got my Acura in July 2010, so I've had it for alittle over a year. It is a 2006 Acura RSX Type-S. I've put about 36,000 miles on it so far and it is at 93,000 miles now. So far, so good. It is my first Honda. It's also about to get it's first upgrade this week probably. The clutch is bad so I'm putting in a ACT stage 2 clutch kit (AR1-HDSS) and a Fidanza aluminum lightweight flywheel. I also have 2 other cars which is a 1993 Mazda Miata and a 1985 Toyota Corolla GTS hatchback.
Welcome to the site! I have an '02 Type-S that I purchased new. It only has about 78,000 miles on it and nothing has worn out so far with the exception of tires. I will likely consider a lighter-weight flywheel when the clutch eventually wears out.
I have incorporated several upgrades and would recommend all of them:
- Cold air intake. I installed a Comptech Ice Box.
- Insulated IM gasket.
- Hondata ECU reflash. The improvement in midrange performance was incredible!
- A-Spec suspension upgrade. About $650 plus installation which is comparable to aftermarket struts and springs. Great improvement in handling yet comfortable for a daily driver.
- Hardrace rubber motor mounts. Effectively eliminated wheel hop with a slight increase in cabin vibration at idle.
Enjoy your Type-S!
