2015 ILX 2.4L Build

Hey guys, so i can post pictures but i figured a video would work well also.

Day 1 at the dealership. Purchased used with about 46k on it.

clean over all car

Installed the aFe Takeda intake with their Pro5R Fliter. Cant see here but later also installed their TB Spacer

Removed the resonator that sits behind the driver side fog light.

Lowered the car on Tein S-Tech springs. Mild drop and overall good ride quality still. Also here i mounted 18 inch wheels on the car 18x7

Full Race downpipe with high flow CAT. Picked this up used from another SI owner

Full Race vs Stock

HASPORT Upper engine mount U62A

HASPORT Lower engine mount U62A

3M Wrapped the interior trim

Front OEM Aero Install time

Injen Axel Back install. Had to make a cut out for it to fit

Ebay universal diffuser

BRAUM Racing seats. Used Civic Si 9thgen seat rails to install them on the car. You will be able to hook up the seat belt connector back up but you will get the airbag light. Working on figuring it out to to fool the system.

much lower seating postion

different wheels, Drag DR69 17x7.5

Ebay door sill inserts

Caliper paint job using high temp primer, paint and clear

Time for some engine bling lol. Powder coated the valve cover to match the J's racing one. J's racing oil cap and plaque on the valve cover. Painter the oil dipststick black. Picked up a different coil pack cover. Also not able to see here is the Greddy radiator cap.

this wasnt the most fun thing to install

No turbo plans. I going to keep this car naturally aspirated. I just purchased an LSD for the car as well as exedy stage 1 clutch. This will really help the car around the track for me.

New wheels

Back for a little update on the car. So I sold the drag wheels I was running on the car to get these new ones. Wanted to go with a bigger offset and wider wheel. These are 17x8 with 35mm offset. Going to run a 245/40/17 on the car. The plan is to get some TL-S brembo calipers for the front and these wheels will clear the bigger calipers.

Painting the wheels

Decided to change up the color of the wheels since the finish was looking a little worn down. I had already mounted the new tires which meant more prep work. Also got these sand blasted before painting them which helped me start with a clean slate.

2 can of primer not shown here. 3 cans of paint and 2 clear. Also added the effex clear for a more metalic look.

Fresh decals and valve stem covers

Incase anyone wonders if I did the inside of the wheel 😉😉

In love with how these wheels look on the car

Side aero trim piece. Gloss black

Front splitter fit pretty good. No cutting needed.bhard to see in pics but center section is gloss black and sides are matte black.

Strut bar installation 2013-2015 ilx

Must remove wiper arms to remove trim piece

Cut out on the trim you need to make for clearance.

Same cut out drivers side

Need to remove hood liner to have clearance when closing the hood.

Guys i will be posting a video for the installation soon. Please check it out.

Under body brace

Need to cut out two holes in the plastic at the rearward mounting area to expose the two bolts used to secure the brace in place.

A little fun on the the track at Western Michigan Honda Meet. This takes place at Gingermen Raceway, south haven Michigan. If anyone has the opportunity to come try your car out, DO IT. Amazing experience.

If you have the same ILX as me, you can get one for a 9thgen civic SI.

I figured, thanks for clarifying. Also not sure if you tuned yours yet, but I heard you talking about Ktuning it. I went with Hondata. Hondata doesn’t support the 15 ILX ECU, but you can get one from a 13 or 14 (part number 37820-R9B-A03 I got mine used off of eBay) and have your Acura dealer install and program it.

thanks again for your help.

The car feels pretty good overall. The springs need to go if I wanna have more fun. The car definitely has more in it. Coilovers are coming soon.

Custom seat belt latch arm

So with the higher bolsters from the new seat, i ran into a small issue with the seat belt latch sitting really low between the center console and the seat. It was also pressing hard against the center console. Went to a local machine shop and had them modify the OEM latch arm to where they created and weld on a longer arm.

The cut outs are for the rest strut bar going in. Also to have access to the shocks for adjustments.
