Hi all,

I just got a 2016 Acura ILX with the technology package. Thus, it comes with navigation integrated in the top screen.

I was wondering if anyone has the same year and trim of this car, and has managed to add CarPlay. I know that CarPlay is a common upgrade for 2016 ILX’s, but I’ve yet to see anything about adding it to one with tech package trim. The reason I’m unsure of if it’ll work is because my screen has navigation built in which means the wiring may be different and there may be different components.

I desperately want to add CarPlay to my car, so if anyone has ANY insight it would be so so appreciated. Thank you all in advance!!!

 

You can run one of these two box's to do the same.

The Lite version is a bit cheeper,

Whereas the full VL2 one has more builtin feature/app that can run natively

There are other China boxes you can get through Amazon, but your mileage may vary on those.

I am seriously considering using one of these VLine/VLite boxes in my 2015 RDX Tech to add newer updated apps and CarPlay too.
