Man, i been super busy recently. My life is either kinda boring, or super busy.

Window visor update - guy says he should have them in his hands in about 2 weeks.

I may be removing a lot of the chrome on my car soon, I'm tired of the unfortunate low quality of the pieces. One piece even fell off the passenger side - I replaced it with a another, for now. The chrome edge stuff has like a clear coat that is starting to get chipped/peel. But I was just kinda waiting till when I take the car for its yearly detail - I mostly do my own washing/cleaning but the claybar, year long sealant, etc, i do once a year with a pro detailer.

The chrome pillars have light scratches all over them got that solid 10 footer look going on them... They are also somewhat peeling /coming up at the edges. I took pics, will post later. Too busy.

At this point , I may try to use the original stainless steel chrome pillars I bought, and somehow chop them... They looked really great, very high quality, but won't fit with the visor's... or maybe I'll even try carbon fiber ones, since the look is gonna be different now anyway.... If i do carbon fiber pillars, I'm actually thinking of hydro dipping the visors in a matching carbon fiber print...

Big chrome strip at bottom will definitely stay, looks nice, not apparently easily damaged like the other stuff

aomechmarine Shoot me a pm or whatever when those do arrive. Depending how they look and all I would definitely be interested in a pair.

Read through the thread.

He said in his last post, just a week ago, that it would be at least 2 weeks.
So no they aren't ready yet.

Also these will be very much the 3m stick on kind. He posted this as well. They should have chrome on them so that it doesnt look like you covered the chrome up. But yes they will be 3m.

One answer is two posts above yours. The other is probably on the previous page. I just hate when people ask a question without looking first for the answer.

HOLY CRAP - I just found out about a new visor company that is near me, they appear to be pretty damn good quality and are clip in. I will be contacting them on monday and test fitting ASAP if they are interested. Bet they will be. Although a few companies legitimately told me NO. Since they appear to be local, I'm hoping their turn around time isn't as bad. Who knows tho. More options for us, probably means better prices in the long run. Really, i have no loyalty on this. It's been almost a god damn year of waiting, i want visors already. If they have a better product as well, all the better. I'm excited. I hope to test fit for this new company, AND hopefully get the first set of these other ones NEXT WEEK. Crazy timing.

I called the new visor company today. Customer service guy was kind of a douche bag. But, as with many companies in the past, he had never heard of the ILX and didn't seem all too interested really. He took down my contact info, and I had already sent them an email over the weekend. He said " maybe in the future" bla bla bla. So basically NO. I get it, its a business. Companies will probably want to make visors in a couple more years once there's a lot more ILX's on the road, bigger customer base to sell to. For now, most of them couldn't give less of a shit... Sucks.

YES those look awesome.... Guess where I'm gonna be stopping by?.... I don't like the gap between the visors tho.

Beggars can't be choosers tho. FUCKING FINALLY

So you bought em already? Post link dude. If you don't I will once I find out where. They have their website, but other people sell their stuff too.

Yeah man I know what you mean. I wish there was no gap between the visors also. The visors on the Lexus IS I had before had no gap. But overall I think the quality of these visors is better than the one I had on my Lexus. I got them directly from HIC. You probably already have there website but here it is anyways. www.hicusastore.com. It's not listed on their website yet so I had to call them to place my order.

Bump because I'd love some for the '16s

I sent an email to hicusa about them. (and the sun roof visor they show in their photos)

Any one know if the doors/mounting for visors on a 16 would be the same as the 13-15s?

The ILX on their website with the sunroof visor is my car, thats an OEM Honda Civic accessory for the 9th gen. Believe 8th gen is same part number as well. The visors should fit the 2016, its the same car people. Yes there are significant and noticeable changes, but its more or less the same bones.

while i love that someone made them. i love the natural lines that the car has. i think they stick out too much and take away from the beauty of the lines. up close not a fan.

Perhaps one day Acura or another OEM company might make some.

That said for the time being, the HICUSA ones are a definite step above the rest and worth looking into, and they are ~70 shipped, so you can't really go wrong with em.

Seeing as how the lower quality ones Ive seen on other Honda/Acuras sell for about the same (if not a little more); these are a definite good buy for the price.

I'll be installing my set of side visors later on today, so I'll post more photos for those who are still on the fence.

Those look like weathertech window visors to me. I had them on my 2007 TSX and loved them. Too bad nothing for '15 ILX

Those are the only window visors I would go for. The ones that cover the trim or try to mask it just look too tacky imo.

Sadly I would assume no one else is going to be making visors for our cars. Unless ILXs start flying off the showroom floor like Civics you wont see much of any aftermarket support.

I frankly feel lucky HIC has made a design for us. As AOmech said. Beggers cants be choosers. Weve been begging for window visors for 2 years now. Super happy with these. Yes they look a tad tacky with the chrome trim but it is both better than no chrome and way better than no visors at all.

Aside from the looks I just love the functionality.
Crack your windows in the rain with now worry about water getting in.
Crack your windows while you park and no one can even notice they are slightly open.
Crack the windows while driving and don't get the annoying rush of air.

And if you are a smoker, all those things are twice as awesome. I don't smoke but I love these visors just the same.

Pics suck but heres two of mine I posted on my thread.

Heres how they look/fit on a 2016

Fitment I'd say is about an 9/10. There is a slight difference in the bend of the front visors vs the line of the cars window. But again as @usdmJON said. Beggars can't be choosers, its great they are even offered at all.

Here is a close up of the slight discrepancy

Wow and only like 60 bucks. 20 cheaper than well... the cheaper ones. hahaha

Dont get me wrong nothing wrong with HIC and their product. But in time I will definitely swap over to the weathertech ones!

Did you randomly look or get an email from them?

I sold my ILX and getting a TLX instead, I was looking into visors for the TLX and noticed they're in stock. Decided to check the ILX for you guys and was pleasantly surprised. Much better than the current offerings imo

I just went to purchase some... only to realize RIGHT before purchasing that it said "front pair". Thought to myself wtf? I didnt pick only the front. Go back to find out they are selling ONLY the front visors as a pair for the $59.99. So not cheaper like I though. If anything they'll be 99.99 for 4 or 59.99 for a pair. Thats what the TSX visors are priced at. Makes sense. Weathertech is normally a tad more expensive than the competition. Looks like Ill be using these HIC visors for a bit longer.

Ive sent them an email to see if the rears are being developed. Told them I was a 2.2 seconds away from hitting confirm before seeing it was only the front pair. They'll have a sale once its a full set but not until then.

Good news, Window visors from HIC are currently back in stock. As you can tell I wrapped the chrome in black and tadaaa. Lol. Fitment was perfect. You gotta slowly peel the tape and line it up with the frame. Had questions at first but customer service was great.

kinda unrelated but I saw a newer Hyundia with some dope stealth looking visors, didn't pop off the windows too much and were completely smooth from one end to the other.. almost like they weren't even on there. That's what I want
