Waaaaa? New page is mine? Well then.

I guess I can't edit my post so..
before

You can order these off Amazon or from Lamin-X themselves. I found it to be the same pricing but I love Amazon and I use Amazon Prime so I purchased through Amazon.
You can pick up an entire front end film kit for headlights and fogs. They let you choose between clear protective, light tint, smoke, and yellow... maybe blue too. You can choose smoked headlights and yellow fogs if youd like even. They also have rear set ups for the tails and reflectors.

Package comes with film ONLY. I ended up not using the decal applier from Otterbox or the lens cleaner they recommended.

I just cleaned the surface with a towel and some water. Peel the backing off and apply.
I found it easiest to line up the outside bottom of the film so when you are standing you can see that edge is perfect. The slight gap it leaves at the top wont be visible. I also found it seems to be pretty pliable. You can peel it off and reapply many times and it has a bit of stretch.

For larger applications they suggest misting the sticky side ONCE which will prevent less air bubbles.

Done

The difference is far more drastic when the lights are off. Turning them on looks pretty stock in my opinion. Yellow bulbs would change that.

I absolutely love the crisp cut off on Acura HIDs. Still to this day fabricators are making TL HIDs retrofit into their civic, integra, prelude, etc. The fogs have a pretty crisp cut off as well in my opinion.

In all, foglight film cost was 14.95$
Full kits are around 54.95$

I don't mind having to customize parts to get the look and sound I'm after, but I do wish the had window visors by Acura, and JDM exhaust options. Since the car was designed here and the model is not being sold in Japan the latter is probably a pipe dream... I will be going with Greddy if the release theirs or a used spoon N1 to hack and make work I am bummed about the window visors I hope they decide to do them

Just talked to Greddy they said no plans to offer an ILX exhaust at this time . Guess I will be going with a one off custom set up.

I said this in the other thread but I just saw you reside in Cali. Call Magnaflow. They should be willing to do a custom exhaust from the cat that follows a similar to OE design just a diameter of your choosing.

Thanks I might go that route. I am trying to look at what else might be coming down the pipeline and I have been playing with the idea of calling Burns Stainless and see about making an axle back... I dont know, but Greddy deciding not to do one is bad for us. or at least potentially bad for us because it means some of the big players are not thinking there is much market with us.

Hmmm. I figured that much in the first place.
It is a luxury car so most companies wont car to fabricate new parts for a car they dont think will be tuned. It took companies forever to start developing parts for the G35 and look where that went.

In reality. Most of the owners wont do much tuning to their cars. Not to be overly cynical; but the majority of the users here wont do more than wheels, a couple lighting mods, and maybe an intake here or exhaust tip there.
Maybe half of them (the them is already a very low number) wont be willing to pay prices that Greddy, or HKS, AEM, etc are wanting for their work. Chances are the parts will be worth a lot too since they wont expect many sales. They will have to up the price to make the R&D worth their time and money.

Luxury cars just dont get hit up too often by hobbiest tuners. I say this in the broad scheme of things. There is a very large group of tuners tuning Luxury specific cars but most of them dont consider Greddy or big name companies like that an option. They wold rather fabricate one off parts that make their car that much more "luxurious" in their eyes and their peers eyes.

Id think Magnaflow would make you an exhaust cheaper than HKS or Greddy would sell a production exhaust for. Just my thoughts. Itll be a while before I do an exhaust by I planned on going through Magnaflow and I had a few choice options to speak with them on to make it really one off.

Yeah, I guess I just dont really see this car as a luxury car. I mean its nice and all but I think of the car as more of a sports car with luxury additions & creature comforts like the entry level Acura's before it: Integra/RSX they had more creature comforts then their Honda siblings, yet still were more sporty then luxury at least in my opinion. Both also had a strong aftermarket support so I guess I was hoping for the ILX to hit the ground running... Its cool though I dont have a problem thinking outside the box

It does but certain security systems don't work with Homelink. I live in an apartment building with Securakey Key Cards and I'm out of luck.

Which Window Tinting is recommended?

Living in an urban city, I need to tint the back windows. I've never had to do this. Any suggestions or warnings?

I had 15% front and 20% rear and back. I'm older now and the 20% on the front, at night when turning, was becoming a problem for me. Hope that helps.

^^What he said.

Id say for your situation tint the rear window a shade lighter than limo. You dont need to see out the rear windows and most dealers will go that route.
If you decide you want to do the front side windows later just sit in the back seats at night and see if you think that is enough visibility. If not go a shade lighter than that in the front.

I just got my car tinted and did 35% all the way around. Definitely looks nice and has minimal effect on being able to see out of the windows. I would recommend looking at something around 35% and do it on all windows - makes for a good clean look.

so i am completely new to this forum and need help/opinions.. i am knowledgeable with most of this, but i'm pulling the female card with this one. i am trying to find smoked tail lights and headlights and don't know the best place to look, or even if they make them for the 13 ilx bc it's so new.. also, does anyone know if i can get oz racing cortina rims for it yet? i can't seem to find those for it either.. yes i'm a girl but tend to be completely not girlish when it comes to my vehicle.. the only thing i've done to it so far is a 5% tint, 20% overlay and tinted the windshield at 35%.. thanks for any help!

Check out tirerack.com for the wheels and I'd go to a local body shop maybe to tint your head lights and tail lights. If you dont know of a shop maybe ask some friends that mod their cars.
Welcome.

That's awesome. I have been thinking about getting them. Dealerships/sites say it runs $355 but I assume that does not include installation. How much you think it will run all day?

I'm looking into getting door sills myself, I had them on my 8th Gen Civic and it definitely made a difference in the look. I am checking with an 8thcivc.com sponsor to see if he would be willing to develop sills for the iLX

Hi,

I just purchased a 2014 ILX Base. Loving it!

My question: What do you guys think of the Acura Premium Sound system (not the Tech package)? Any suggestions on how to make it even more crisp?

I had an 07 Civic Si with a premium similar to the ILX's I didn't want to change my HU but wanted better sound, I ended up getting a custom amp bypass harness created by a member on this forum, the harness hooked into the input harness that went into the external amp and had RCA outputs, the signal outputted was a balanced one so only amps such as JL Audio which could handle a balanced input signal would work. I had that setup for at least two years with no issues. I was able to use any aftermarket speakers that fit, 6.5“ components and a 10" sub I didn't see the need for rear fill I also ended up installing an Audiocontrol unit for better equalization. I'm thinking that the premium system is almost identical to the Civic's so a harness such as this might work for the ILX

I find the USB interface and high quality MP3's really helps. I bump the Sub up a notch or two Treble 75% and Bass about 65%.

I find the Premium Sound System to be very nice with no real desire to upgrade it. (Went from Hatchback with 600W to the ILX Audio)

I like the Premium Sound System too, which makes me wonder. How good must the ELS version be? Look forward to seeing your ILX on here!

Picture 3 extra speakers, one big on in the dash and two behind the passenger headrests as well as I believe an additional 300watts and youve got the ELS.

I believe we use [*img*]1234[*/*img*] coding.

Take out ALL the *, use no spaces, and replace the 1234 with the URL of your picture uploaded to a host site like tinypic.com (which will supply the proper coding for a url) as well as flickr or photobucket.
So you under stand the coding, the sequence before the 1234 starts the image code, the sequence following ends it since it has the same code with the additional backslash to signify a code end. The picture must be uploaded to a host because without it there is no file location we can all freely access.

Looks like you tried to use facebook. Upload to tinypic.com
Doesn't require a password and you dont need to make an account.
Or you can save all your images on flickr.

Thanks for comments, glad I'm not the only one noticing the suspension is very cushiony/ luxury sorry to say but it seems Toyota Avalon, if i hit the breaks hard the car dives in !! did u modify the suspension and if yes what do you recommend? keep in mind everyday driving and not racing but more stiff suspension.
Thanks
