Got this from CT engineering:
We got as far as installing the axleback portion of our Civic exhaust and as soon as we saw the tip hit the bumper we stopped. We are in the process of discontinuing most of our exhausts and have a limited supply of parts left, so we are going to save them for our existing Civic SI products rather than introducing an exhaust and then have to stop production on it.

The two cars are almost identical but there are small differences. Depending on your budget you may want to get an exhaust made at a local fab shop. You can purchase a muffler/resonator and tip that you like and have a shop install it for you.

my mechanic friend trying putting the brackets onto the bushings
his car next to mine
washed the car

A couple of things:
1) the bar is definitely worth it. The car feels tighter in the rear and is more planted when I take corners...definitely increases driver confidence
2) the bar rubs / presses against the exhaust pipe (making a small rubbing noise and resonating the exhaust frequencies). It doesn't make a rubbing noise when the car is warmed up though. I think the rubbing has to do with not installing 100% correctly though; I'm pressure sure I can angle the car down a little more.
3) the car also feels less floaty

hmm. i guess it might be better getting the same bar as you then, instead of the eibach ones. i want to get rid of majority of the float and bounce.
thanks for the update!

My understanding is this is the rear Eibach bar.
Thanks for the update Speed!

yep, it is the eibach rear sway bar. If you go with the front/rear kit for the 9th civic, it'll use the same rear bar.

Another possible (OEM option) for the suspension would be to install the HFP spring / shock combo on the ilx. The kit was made for the coupe, but given the small weight difference, I don't think it'll be problematic since the cars are 100lbs different in terms of weight.

I think he's leaning back on trying to make it closer to an OEM-style set-up that Acura-coulda-woulda-shoulda-did

Kinda, I mean I dont think Acura will ever implement them in their cars FROM the factory though. But I see where youre going with it lol I am sure we will be of the few that have it.

haha, ok ok...it's not a true type-s...but I'd rather use "oem plus" parts where possible for sake of longevity / mitigation of headaches.
#141
I am just givin ya a hard time. I think the quality aftermarket parts outlast the OEM equipment.. but of course I mean the parts that are fast and reliable.. which aren't cheap. We all know how that saying goes.

You really think so? I feel like OEM has traditionally outlasted non-oem components. It could be because the aftermarket parts put extra strain on the weaker parts of the car.
#143
I always pay a pretty penny for the parts I buy and I am not hard on them.. that maybe it?

There is only way to test this. I buy my kit, you buy yours...we see where we are 3 years from now :thumbs up: Let the modding begin.

Well, maybe not all of them, but this one caught my eye. Not being sarcastic.
How about just taking a caveman approach and use a rubber mallet to kinda "create" some clearance with the muffler?

Wait til it gets the underbody kit...the car should look sharper.
I'll take another look at the sway to get it installed properly.

My modding has been delayed.. I had to drop some cash for some unexpected expenses.. and I can't justify dropping $1000 on something unless I have my liquid funds back up. I expect to be back in the game around May. Front & rear sway bars, coil overs and control arms are tops of my list of to-dos though.
I will stay tuned for your progress. So far so good!

Also, one thing to note is that I won't have to worry about putting the stock part back on when I sell the car seeing as it looks completely stock lol

really debating on either waiting around and keep driving like this, or just go ahead and order me some Koni struts for the 2013 Civic Si along with the ILX H&R springs..
I rather just do the sways and springs/struts at the same time. im starting to bug out with this swaying/pitching/understeer when I'm not even going fast.. Actually, i feel the entire car rock when sitting still and just turning the wheels.. I have 300 miles now, this can't be right.

I would highly recommend holding off until some of the big companies come up with some things for your application. You may regret going with HFP when the Tein Basis come out for your car (might be compatible now). Cost will be comparable and height adjustability is 2nd to none.

because Advance has no proper adjustments. Only damper. No body threading for height, no proper helper springs, top hats with camber adjustments, pilllowball mounts, etc... Advance is a step up only from decent aftermarket springs and struts setup

by doing it right, I'm sure you actually mean, wait for proper coilover setups to hit the market?
