the exhaust is installed.

so the story behind it.. i originally wanted it to sit pretty much oem but the problem was this. in order for the muffler to sit oem without burning the bumper, the muffler would have to sit lower then the bumper. problem is my car is way too low for that, the muffler would be sitting on the ground. so fuck raising my car. as much as i didnt want to cut my bumper i had no choice unless i raised my car. so the bumper got cut this skunk2 76mm catback is so sexy so damn deep it holds the sound so well through all rpms no rasp at all, has such a nice tone to it.. i went 3' and no hp/torque loss that i can physically tell.. but no hp/torque gains either .. love the exhaust! skunk2 all day!

What did you use to cut the bumper and how big of a hole did you cut for your tip to safely fit without burning the bumper?

Can you get any lower shots so we can see how the exhaust exits. Maybe from a few feet away.
Can't wait to see more of it.

Is the skunk 2 an axle back or muffler?

i have to say skunk2 did a fantastic job on the measurements and the fitting from how the pipe sits to where the muffler sits with the bumper

What does the Canadian ilx have that the usa version doesn't ?

I believe the dynamic is basically a 2.4 tech. So everything the tech has... hd, 10 speakers, 700watt... I'm missing something.

The canister is a bit big for my taste but it fits perfectly. I'd love for my exhaust to fir like that but about half the size.

I'm sorry I got the number wrong. My overall point was the 2.4 dynamic has an upgraded system. Correctly.... from 360 to 410. I thought it was 400 to 700. Regardless, my point still stands. I had a minor detail wrong.

Congrats on staying classy about it though bro. Mature.

Bro i tried making sound clips wit my phone but it sounds so faint. The z10 cant pick up the sound. At the meet thursday ill get a guy to being a proper VC n record it.

N the muffler tip may be too big for sum but keep in mind its a 3" not 2.5 and i was more concerned with sound then looks and skunk2 offered the sound i wanted. But its not a huge fart can

I'm sure it sounds good. The dc cat back on my integrated was way too big for my liking cosmetically. But sounded nice and deep.

I don't want to ask you this but could you take a closer shot of the cutout? Only if you have spare time lol just want to see how clean they cut it. It's easier to hide rough edges on black painted car compared to white.

Spotted?

What up Pockets!

You wouldn't happen to be the ILX owner I saw this Saturday when I was pulling into Square One and you (possibly) were pulling out. I was in the white 3G TL with the Vossen replicas.

Either way, if it was you, your car looks fucking amazing in person...so much so when I got home late that night I started looking into the ILX. If it wasn't you...well...you're car still look dope as hell!!! haha

Ha ya man, that was me.

Sorry for the delay, didn't realize you had posted.

Dude, I dont know if it's just plain bad luck or some shit, but would you believe 2 weeks ago and this past week I've cracked two wheels. Exact same location for the crack on both wheels, and I have not hit a single pot hole or manhole or anything. Im thinking it's a manufacturing defect.

I wanted to ask you where picked up your wheels because I may go ahead and pick up 2 wheels for a staggered setup. It seems all the retailers here in the GTA that post they have the replicas in staggered setup show pics of the 9.5 wheel looking like it has no difference in concaveness compared to the 8.5 wide. I notice you're rolling around with 18's with a nice concave look out back.

Sorry I'm also assuming you have the reps and not originals because the hub cap doesn't look like the Vossen caps.

Can you give me your exact specs for the 18's? as well as your tire sizes...just curious.

Thanks brother!

Ouch. When he got them he said they were Vossens so Im pretty sure he's got "real" Vossens. Though there isnt any difference between the two wheels minus the center cap and a stamp or two.

Do your wheels have JWL VIA or TUV stamped on them?

But anyways. To answer your question here is what pockets posted before...
they are ... vossen cv3's black with machined face i was against them but once i seen them in person oohhhh lord! them shits was mean

they are staggered here are the dimensions

front 18x8.5 +40 215/35/18
rear 18x9.5 +40 225/35/18 the back is soo fuckin concave

Thanks usdmJON.

Totally missed it in the thread when I was going through, I only read a post about them being 18's. Appreciate the find.

Ya man, these motherfuckers need to come off quickly...luckily both cracks were relatively small, about .5-1"...one crack resulted in almost no air pressure loss, the other crack had me losing about 15-20 PSI ever 24hrs. But either way still dangerous as the crack obviously causes structural compromise. Not sure if the original Vossen's are a stronger wheel, but teaches me to be a little cheap!

My wheels are manufactured by Ikon. Contact the place I got them from, they're asking for pics...so hopefully something positive comes of this. I repaired the first one, I thought maybe it was just some sorta bad luck, but a second crack in the exact same spot on another wheel...can't be a coincidence. The first one with the original cost of the wheel, plus the repair, has them costing more than the original Vossen's...shit!

Couldn't say if the Vossens are stronger. You would hope so for the price but Id honestly put my money on them having them same structural integrity or damn near close. Quite a few Vossen owners have seen cracks form. Wheels should generally bend, not crack. Id honestly applaud that you came to the same conclusion a lot of Vossen owners do for a fracton of the price. Just don't tell yourself Vossens would have held up because chances are they are made the same way from the same material.

ya man, I didn't even expect to buy wheels the day that I did. Got to the shop, they had them up in the showroom. At first I thought they were Vossen's, owner told me they were replicas. Given that I had heard the name Ikon (brand) before and asked some owners and they were pretty happy with them..figured I'd give them a try.

I'm gonna check out the repaired wheel today because I gotta grab a pic to send over to the manufacturer, I'll check to see the stamping on the inside.

Not a huge deal. Sometimes they are on the outside between the spokes.
I only ask because I dont believe Vossen has their wheels certified through JWL VIA or TUV standards so if your wheels have any of those then they would be a step up in fact.

Name brands aren't all they are cracked up to be. Take the Mugen NRs for example. The 15in ones for the FIT. I had those reps on my Integra in white. Mine were by Konig, which is a great reputable replica brand that does test their wheels to JWL and VIA standards. Both the Mugen NR and the Konig Replicas are cast wheels but the konigs effectively weighed about 2 pounds less per wheel making that 8 less total. Of unsprung weight; that matters.

Now I don't know if the Mugen cast wheel is stronger than the konig cast wheel. Chances are slim but possible. Mugens cost more than twice as much but weigh more... paying for the name in that sense.

i got my wheels at z racing in mississauga, and keep in mind your getting your advice from john who is biias against vossens and he hates rep wheels.

im running traklite -K's ( vossen rep ) and they are +35 offset and im running a 5mm spacer in the back

the ikons only come in a 9" u have to get the traklites to get the deeper concave

and for the record regafrdless if i agree with johns opinion on certain things replicas do break they dont bend but at the end of the day my wheel is 200 to replace not 700.. so ill go through 3 rims in the price of one, i havent cracked my rims and im stretched n im really low so go to z racing talk to Sam tell him the black ilx with the vossen reps he will kno who ur talking about ,im advertised for him.
