Rev hang gone, throttle response much much better. Best mod so far.
How is the part throttle power? Does the car feel significantly different from stock? I installed the RV6 last weekend and started tuning with Vit at the same time. We're at revision #4/5 right now. I normally do my own tuning but though it would be good to use Vit's services and see what I can add to my knowledge base.

Also curious as to how you find the sound with the RV6 - Is your's the catted version? I find it louder than stock and mostly OK but 2000 rpm hits a loud resonance that I would like to get rid of.. I will say this is based on my calibration being locked on the 0 cam so the sound may change as the tune progresses. Cam angle can make a difference in sound and I think 25* may produce the least amount of noise.

Do you have a cat-back system as well? Or just the RV6 catted downpipe? 2000 RPMs is extremely loud for me as well. Seems like it got louder after the tune. I have the catted version as well. Mid/low range gained about 7 ft lbs and 4 to 6 hp from 1500 to 5000 RPMs. Top gained 14whp and 7 ft lbs.

Overall it drives much smoother, more power throughout the entire power band, rev hang gone. Not like it feels like I gained 40hp but still noticeable.

Stock exhaust for me. Stock intake as well. I think the RV6 is starting to get a bit quieter as it gets coated internally but I'll try to see what can be done to remove the 2000 RPM sound spike.

Does your RV6 make a tinny sounding rattle on start-up? Mine seems to for about a minute or less. Not loud but I notice it.

Hard to say, the whole system rumbles really loud on a cold start for about 20 seconds

Yes sir. Didn't even see that yet. Flashpro was updated to work with the 14 ilx as of the first week of April. I've been waiting over a month since I bought that damn thing. Hondata's website said it worked for the 2014 ILX back in January but they were wrong. I guess I was the first to try it because it was the 1st time they heard it wasn't working.

Stripping the Intake, Downpipe and Exhaust off the car in May and going 3" piping and CAI for the Cte Supercharger install. #Pumped!

So sick!! Cant wait to see this happen.

It makes me sad knowing I cant go hondata... but it'll make it easier to be a leader when it comes to the 2.0

The hondata numbers look soo good. I can't wait to be able to tune mine!

Just ordered the following parts:

Dimpled and Slotted F/R Rotors
25mm Rear Spacers (will have 19mm F and 25mm R now)
Progressive 24mm Rear Anti-Sway Bar
FKX Rear Tie Bar (front is sold out but will order when in stock)
Full-Race 3" Catted Downpipe
Full-Race 3" Cat Back Exhaust

Putting on some more clear bra (Trunk, Roof, Gas Tank Area - We can't pump our own gas in OR and i don't trust anyone)

As soon as the DP + Exhaust is installed I will have the Bumper modified - have to take it off before the exhaust is installed then taking down to my guy's body shop for fab work. Will have the bottom piece painted black so it will not show any soot that shows up after the SC is installed this summer

I did not, unless you are going to the track often or driving really hard on a regular basis you will be fine with stainless. My 2.5" is stainless right now and I've had no issues for 2 months. Your call

That's fine though, you'll still be one of the VERY VERY few people with a boasted ILX. To be honest I don't know of 1. I don't think Vit has ever tuned one either. You know anyone with a SC in their ILX?

The only FI ILX so far is the Endurance ILX Acura or some company put together. So far no privately owned ILX is FI... turbo or supercharger.

I doubt a supercharger will be developed for the R20... not sure if one was created for the R18 civic. If so Ill check that out because Id like to go supercharger being a daily driven car. But if turbo is my only option... so far it is already available, than Ill go that route and run at low boost settings. Maybe 7-8psi.

If those are stock numbers on the carb system i would be VERY happy with those numbers. being that the r20 is larger I wonder if Id see something past 210hp with the extra .2L

As well with some further modding 250hp could be quite possible.

At $3500 before tuning options that does seem a bit step compared to the Turbonetics turbo kit before tuning.

Definitely can't be bone stock. The R18 only came stock with 140hp at the engine (should be at most 120hp at the wheel) and this one is showing 142hp. Probably had full bolt ons and professional tune.

I hate when companies show dynos on non stock cars.
Or maybe they ran an engine dyno? Can they do that while the engine is in the car still?
We only ran engine dynos while they were on a hoist.

There are only 3 ILX's that I know of 100% are boosted but they were all SEMA cars. The endurance one, Street one, and the vinyl wrapped gold one. Ive been pondering through IG and I believe someone is running a S/c on there ILX but then again he was posting pics of a S/C'd 8th gen also. Im pretty sure somewhere out there theres a boosted one, just not on the internet yet.

BUUUUT.. you still beat me to it haha. Cant wait to see your numbers !

Are you sure the street build was fi?
I only mentioned the endurance because I thought the street build was NA... totally forgot about that gold one.

pretty sure the street one was, they rated it at 250whp and that aint possible with just bolt ons. AxionIndustries produced a z7 with 210ish whp with the rbc conversion, rdx injectors/tb, skunk2 alpha header, skunk2 fuel rail, and not sure which exhaust.

My point was those gains were likely made on 5 speed's, not AT's, so that could be why the HP/ TQ figures are so much higher than we expected. Of course tune+ other shit helps out.

Well from what I see on Hondata's site as well as the site for the jackson supercharger and tsi turbo all say they are for the MT and AT while not mentioned either being specific but always mentioning the gains made so one would assume the numbers to be comparable AT to MT being the same motor. In the end, it is the motor we're talking about.

Only thing the AT should change is shift timing. I dont see any issues running at normal shift times and I can always go into sport mode if i want to hit the higher RPMs.

The AT should show less gains at the wheel across the band compared to a MT aside from down low thanks to the torque converter. I assumed these tests were Wheel power, and not a engine dyno.

All i know is the Honda AT in the Civic can handle a lot of power but I don't know how efficient it is/ how much is loss due to friction. The MT should have much less losses.

Point I'm making is why the need to point that out. Doesn't matter really. Thanks for the info hold the negativity.

Full Race 3" Downpipe. Won't be going in for a couple weeks. Exhaust is on a back order for 2 weeks or so.

Sweeet. I need a header so bad. That plus the DP I have would complete what youve got done there in one part.

I ordered my setup yesterday and they told me theres a 2 week wait for the exhaust too. When you do cut your bumper write the measurements down if you dont mind it would help me out a bunch. I have done all kinds of drafts on what size/shape I want to do but cant make a decision.

This bitch is twice as heavy as the downpipe! Maybe the guy at FKX Racing was right - he said the 24MM is too big for the ILX and will cause some rattling.

Sorry for the Lack of Tire Shine - raining buckets here. F/R Rotors installed, Rear Tie Bar in and Progressive 24mm anti-sway bar in. Handles like a dream. Now just need the front tie bar
