Intro From SoCal

Hey guys,

My name is Dmitry. I'm the Used Car Internet Manager at AutoNation Acura South Bay. Registered on this site some time ago, haven't introduced my self yet, figured I'd say hi.

Hi.

So, a little bit about my self:

I've been a car nut ever since I was a kid, have owned a bunch of different cars, trucks, and bikes.

Got into car sales about 8 months ago (been in sales for about 10 years now)

Currently in the garage:

2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon black/black - wife's car

2014 Acura ILX 2.4l blue/black - picked up last night (bday present to self lol)

Thinking about some mods..possible H&R spring, CAI, and a Cat-Back (if I find one for the ILX, the only option I can think of is the Borla one for the SI and I would have to bend the pipe at the tip)
When we had the blue SEMA ILX here a few months ago for service, I liked the Greddy set up but it's not available for sale supposedly...

any suggestions?

Also, If anyone is looking for a new or cpo acura, or any other used car - I'm here to help

hey bro I got test fitted for a bolt-on catback for the 2.4l and it should be out soon. I was also test fitted for window visors. If you look around, you can find those threads. Anyway, the bolt on catback will be around 500 bucks. I would recommend this over getting something that wasn't specifically mad for this car. Maybe if you go to a muffler shop, where they will just make a custom one off, thats actually better (AND CHEAPER) then anything thats available right now. I know a guy who got a custom catback exhaust made for 180 bucks. It will be louder then the bolt on application tho. That is a plus or minus depending on personal taste. I don't like my exhaust super loud.

As far as CAI goes, for this car, they are kind of a bitch to install and remove. That may or may not matter to you. Just keep in mind that Cali is Nazi about CAI legality. But, there will be carb legal shortram intakes available soon.

I don't want to say what company the catback is from until they actually give me the final product. I don't want to give them free advertising if they screw me (doubt it, but still). Pretty much any muffler shop will do that type of job for about that much. I would just look for something close to you. YELP it, for real.

Talked to the catback exhaust manufacturer today. The catback should be ready right around april. I'd give it 3-4 weeks.

I suggest contacting DC Sports and figure out if it is a rear exit or a turn down.

I assume it is a turn down simply because there is no cut out.. but it pictures a universal picture of a normal single canister rear exit.

I ran a DC catback on my Integra and LOVED it. Sounded great. My only issue was the canister was kind of big.

I asked them some questions so hopefully Ill have the answers soon.

I did contact them, they replied:

"SCS7051 you do not need to cut the bumper. On the system we offer a 3” turn down tip"

Thinking on pulling the trigger on this one..

on a side note, I noticed you post a bunch of pics from the Oak Tree, you work there?

@socalsalesrep - do you get a discount on parts? "HYPOTHETICALLY" let's say I "COULD" "POINT YOU" in the right direction to getting a free short ram intake for your specific car… "HYPOTHETICALLY" how much could you get the aero kit for the car for? Honest answer please, if you don't get a discount it's all good.

My discount is basically cost + 10%. I can check when I get into work.

H&R's came in today. Going to have one of the Tech's at work install it tomorrow. Pics to come.

Also, had the Siri update done today, but no luck in getting it to work. Will try to have them try again tomorrow. (Unless I'm doing something wrong)
