ilx splash sheild removal
ilx splash sheild removal
Hi, was wondering if anyone here could give me hand. Since I'm kinda of do it yourselfer, I offered to change the oil on my wife's ilx. I've changed the oil on other vehicles and getting the splash sheild off was no problem. Trying to get it off the ilx seems a little more involved...I'm pretty sure I got all the bolts off but the sheild seems to be held up by additional plastics tabs. Anyway to get them off without damaging them? Searched google but couldn't find any answers, hope you guys can help?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Ok, so I found this guide
Changing the Engine Oil and Oil Filter :: Maintenance Under the Hood :: Maintenance :: Acura ILX 2013-2014 Owner's Manual :: Acura ILX - AcurInfo.com
I didn't see any screws where it says in the guide, unless I'm going crazy. Gonna check again when she comes home tonight.

So after alot of digging around I found that those plastic pieces are called push pins. Some you can take out with a claw of hammer, I tried a wrecking bar this morning but it didn't work.
There's actually two types, the other is with a center pin like is this vid
You have to get the center pin out first so it looks i gotta get a pin removal tool.
