I was snooping around and saw this kit on ebay...

While I don't like the wood trim, I do like the fact that you can swap it out for carbon fiber or blackwood (I think that would look nice if it's OEM grade / quality).

What do you all think?

 

I actually don't mind the black/brushed finish that's already on the center stack of the instrument panel. The ILX is definitely not the type of car that "fits" with woodgrain, but like you mention, the carbon fiber might look decent. What I'd be interested in is something that covers the chrome around the cup holders and shifter knob. That chrome is blinding when the sun hits it right. Unfortunately, it looks like this eBay auction only sells pieces compatible with the automatic transmission console configuration.

 

That cupholder piece is a nightmare to deal with. It's actually bad with the blue ambient lighting reflecting on it too. The only solve is to keep it a little dirty, which goes against everything I've ever stood for

 

Tell me about it. I'm a stickler for smudges and scratches and the cup holder chrome like border trimming is a pain to keep fresh looking. You see everything on it.

 

...and here I thought I was the only one bothered by this!
