ILX before/after tint

I know there were a couple inquiries about some tint percentages.
Here is 40% on the doors (something about this car that makes it NOT need a crazy low percent) and 15% on the moonroof. Here are 4 before, 4 after shots

Enjoy!

For the roof, did they have to take down your headliner to get the sharkfin off to wrap? I love the look of the wrapped roof and would like to do it on my white Type-S, but I really dont want the shop dismantling my whole interior to do it.

Is tinting the windshield not illegal where you're from? I would love to tint my windshield because I hate the sun blasting me in the face if I make a turn.

Located in Michigan. Not legal but its not very noticeable. I have it tinted on all of my cars and never had an issue.

Nice!

I'm going to do it. I'm going to get all the windows done too. I got quotes. I was surprised that pretty much all the shops would install tint on the windshield. The front side windows and windshield are illegal here in California. Back in the day, shops would refuse to do the work.

Many, many years ago, I had one shop owner tell me that they used to tint the front sides, but they stopped because the police were strictly enforcing that law. He said that there was one time when some customer was leaving and as he pulled out of the parking lot with his new tinted front windows, a police officer pulled him over.

Of course, he got the ticket. He did not get a warning. And was required to have the tint removed. Must have ruined that guy's day, I'm sure.

Wow, that's crazy. I'm considering getting from front windows lightly tinted but getting ticketed is always a concern...

There's always that chance that you'll get your ticket and all the money you spent on the tent will be wasted but from what I I've seen when I look around half of the cars have tinted front windows. I've never noticed tinted front windshield but I think I'm going to do it because this. Because the sun getting in my face bothers the hell out of me. Also if you get the better stuff it blocks more heat and that is big. This shirt is expensive these days though. So I wouldn't worry I'm sure that you'll be fine just don't break any other road rules and everything should be okay.

I have 70% on my windshield and 40% everywhere else since 9/20. I have yet to get a ticket or warning.

I'll probably go ahead with a light tint. Hopefully I won't have to remove it when selling the car though.

Yeah, It all depends on the cop. Is he having a bad day or a good one?

I do think that for the most part it's safe because I see front tinted windows all the time.
