ILX - 2013/Premium soundsystem issues

I have had the ILX for about 3 mo. and I was wondering if any other people out there were having issues with the sound system, specifially the tuning of the radio, and the fading in/out of the satelite radio.
I have been finding thhat it is difficult to tune the radio on FM, and at times while listening to satelite radio I loose signal.

I've had satellite radio lose its signal. This seems to just be a glitch in satellite radio overall. I notice that it happens on a bridge I cross each day. I'm thinking all of the metal in the bridge is "bouncing" or interfering with the satellite signal in some way.

The signal also vanishes, as expected, in long tunnels or parking garages.

There are always gonna be times you lose your satellite radio for moments. Trees, buildings, altitude and even weather all play a factor.. And by weather I mean anything from humidity to raining cats and dogs.

That is true.

Not too sure why the trouble with tuning FM stations. The radio can tune in FM stns automatically or you can do it manually. If not working probably have the dealer look at it.

The satellite radio needs a direct line of sight, just like satellite TV. If you go under a bridge, next to a tall building, or just perfectly aligned where you lose this line to the satellite it will fade.

For what it's worth, having come from a 2012 Acura TSX with a similar 360 (I think it even used the same speakers), I can say that the ilx has a far superior antenna and receiver setup. I get better reception and the sound quality is much better than fm, which wasn't the case on my tsx. Ask the tsx guys and they'll tell you the same thing.

very very true.

Ive had problems in my other cars (subaru, benz, other acuras, and nissan) with Sirius XM and even FM radio. They all vary greatly from eachother. Today was my first day with the ILX since ownership and after 40 miles of driving around, i've only lost signal once. Inside the Lincoln Tunnel crossing over from manhattan. That's actually incredible because I would lose signal in other cars every time I pass a tall building or even on highways lined with trees.

I have a ‘21 TLX Type-S that just spent a few days in for Service and they found nothing wrong with the CarPlay. While driving a loaner ‘23 TLX, I enjoyed the CarPlay features as they seemed better in the loaner. I was using a different (newer?) Apple cable in the loaner.

Using that new cable in my ‘21 seems to have improved the boot up accuracy. Might be wishful thinking on my part, but so far, I’m happier. Coincidence? Worth a try for those struggling.
