I just rolled 100,000 miles

Hi all,

Yesterday I turned over 100,000 in my 2013 ILX 2.4.

Here's a link to a blog post where I've detailed everything you could possibly want to know about my experience with the car: memorable drives, maintenance history, wear items. Scroll all the way to the bottom for a 10-minute video clip showing the condition of my car at 100,000 miles.

Hopefully this is helpful to those of you who intend to keep your ILX for the long haul.

Impressed to see how little maintenance was needed to reach 100000. Makes me very happy. I hear about the frs hitting garages already so this makes me super happy.

Awesome! Being as you drive so much and the ILX has only been out for as long as you've had it, maybe you were the first to roll 100k!

Id 100% agree he's probably the first.

The only other ILX I know racking up miles like that was posted on IG by the mechanic because the engine failed after the owner NEVER did an oil change. hahaha Idiots.
Where as 4cruzin's maintenance history at 100,000 is what I find impressive.
Literally if I used my free acura oil change vouchers maintenance to 100,000 would have been less than 100 bucks.

Have followed your well written accounts of your travels. Great job! With this many miles, what say you about the rear suspension clunking and overall road noise many of us have experienced? We are just barely over 20 k on a 2103 Tech and there is a lot to like about the car especially with fuel economy.

When I added my suspension underbracing bars, and especially rear sway bar, I definitely got annoying clunking and stuff. Some of it was a settling in factor and some of it was retighten stuff up. But some of it just seems to be there now. Not everyone has experienced this tho, so hard to say what it is causing this. But I suspect it its just the suspension setup in general. Example - the rear sway bar I used is the JDM Civc Type R OEM rear sway. But this car was made in USDM. I suspect some people got "mixed parts" Some stuff made in JDM and some USDM. This means the production could have tiny differences. I have no proof of this, just common knowledge of how how production runs are tracked to be mindful of recalls.

Yeah the miles added up quickly. I guess I did kind of have a head start, though, since I got my 2013 car in June 2012.

Yeah they did after my first year of blogging about it. Pretty cool.

Not sure yet, just taking it a day at a time I guess.

Yeah the car has really needed next to nothing. I'm probably about ready for another set of Michelins.

I might be. Not sure though!

Definitely. Testament to reliability.

It starts up the first time, every time. No issues here.

You know, I honestly have experienced no suspension issues. I don't know how or why my car would be immune to that but I really don't notice anything. My car was #82 built. Maybe they started a different process or used a different part at some point in the production sequence?

Haha, just give me a destination and I'll go there.

I'm in the early stages of planning a drive to Alaska for next summer...

I was sitting at this light today on Central Ave in Phoenix.

Looked down and the odometer was at exactly 102,000 already.

Fantastic achievement, congratulations! I used to put as much as 45K per year on my cars, but now that I'm working from home and splitting driving between two cars I haven't even hit 9,000 yet on my ILX purchased Oct 2013 (and it had a 750 mile "head start" in demo service.)

2013 Acura ILX 2.0L Technology, $15,900 - Cars.com

Looks like there is at least one other 100k mile ILX out there! Very close to 4cruizn at 106.3k last I checked drivetofive

It's been just under 7 months since I started this thread last October. My ILX is now at over 125,000. I hit this milestone on Saturday night.

Recent road trip to Prescott, AZ.

Looks like you got this question answered. Since the 100k mark, it's been just oil changes and I believe I also had the alternator belt changed and a coolant change completed. My service advisor recommended doing spark plugs the next time I take it in.

Haha, it all adds up. I recently took this car from Phoenix to Dallas and back... for a weekend.

Working from home is a nice perk! I do it from time to time as well. I didn't realize your ILX had been a demo car.

Interesting, yeah I keep eyes open for anyone in the 100's. Can't be very many of them yet.

My whole Carfax is here in case it interests anyone:
