Good bye ! Will miss you a little bit !
So after 5300 miles I am done with the car. Thanks for all the support I've gotten from this forum. It was painful to take such a big hit on reselling it so quickly but I am somewhat glad I've done it. My local Audi dealer was pretty much dead right (even though I didn't end up buying an Audi haha): Don't buy something that you can't afford but also don't buy something you didn't truly want. Not too sure why many said 2013 is better then 2014 Ilx. I will miss this car a little bit and in fact I already do. Switching from a 37k car (Yes, 37k if no incentives for the tech ilx 2013 in Canada) to a 55k car is a big jump and I know I am a very VERY lucky guy to be able to drive so many luxury cars considering I am not even 25. Wish everyone the best of luck here and hopefully Acura will reach there 20k-40k vehicle sold with the 2015 Ilx.

What made you get rid of it?
Actually, I read some of your posts, so I got it.

To be honest, I got a lot more reasons now since the more I drive it, the more problems I've encountered. But since everytime I say something here, they would just flame me so I gave up. Seems like they can't take crticism.

Congrats on the F30, from one BMW enthusiast to another!
I actually thought about getting a F30 but couldn't deal with the bigger size of the 3 series now, the E90 is as big of a car as I'm willing to buy. I guess that's what I like about the ilx, besides being reliable, fun to drive and pretty good looking IMO, it was about the right size for me and why I didn't bother with a similarly price tsx. Anywho enjoy the new car!!

2013 ilx tech and 2014 ilx tech are the same exact car.
2013 premium and 2014 premium are the same exact car.
2013 base differences from higher trims:
16in alloy wheels
cloth seats
lowest quality system
no nav
no HD
no fogs
no HIDs (i think)
2014 base was upgraded with:
(i think) HIDs
17in premium wheels
(i think) leather seats
same quality system as premium
That should be a pretty thorough run down. I could have missed some because I own a tech so I dont know off the top of my head what OTHER people DONT have.
Basically the only differences are the BASE 2014 got some upgrades that the premium had. The 2013 premium still has more options that then new 2014 base. Comaparing 2013 to 2014 is kind of dumb UNLESS its the base model. 2014 is better. Aside from that, it's all the same.
As for the manual trans to my knowledge they are all the same except for the option of a 2014 Manual TECH PACKAGE. Then you have the onboard HD, huge navi screen, homelink, and anything else the techs got. But Im not sure where thats available. You can build a 2014 ilx here in cali but premium only.

2014 also has revised shocks...but they won't tell you that, lol.

Aww I love my mirror dimmer even with my rear tint almost limo.
And Id be willing to bet the struts are the same. Someone with the thumping issue had them replaced with 2014 struts and the problem remained. Either they are the same struts or its NOT the struts problem. Sooner or later someone with the noise issue will listen to me.

What do you mean by listen to you, listen to what?

It's not the struts.
If the '13 strut was replaced with a '13 strut and you still hear it it may be the '13 strut. If you replace the '13 strut with a '14 strut and you hear the same noise its either two things... unlikely, that the 2 parts are indeed the same part with different part numbers, or more likely, its not the damn strut.

I just saw your response to spd and pwr.
Do what a mechanic said and replace the strut with an aftermarket one. Go to acura while it makes the noise and tell them youve gone through 2 2013 struts and one 2014. They need to find a dealer to supply an aftermarket strut or you want to make a claim against that car being defaulty. If the sound is eliminated then you know its acuras struts.
But judging by the fact that not everyone feels this means NOT ALL STRUTS are making the noise. Since you have gone through 3 its not some crazy coincidence that all 3 were defaulty. Its in your car somewhere else, not the strut.

Ahahaha.. That's how it is in here. Say something bad about the car, flame. I guess it's the owner PR to justify owning the car, something like that. Just lately, seems like it has been teenie boppers in these forums.

I'm happy Deathnight *(Whatta name!) decided to cut the ILX loose and get another car. He will be in a better place. This site almost should be titled "BoyRacers buy an Acura ILX" Nothing negative here but when you take car meant as a small luxury rig, then add turbo's, special springs, black out grills, ground effect trim, and Bumble bee exhausts. Well, perhaps it would be better to get a performance car to start with! There are so many cars that will spank a 2.4 six speed right out of the box.
We are very pleased with the car as it came from the factory getting 35 to 40 MPG from the 2 liter! The car is not perfect and we did add much insulation to quiet things down. The Tech GPS designer missed the boat on ease of use too, but overall my wife is very happy..that in turn makes me happy. Don't get me wrong as I am not condemning the mods many of you have done! In fact I look on in amazement at the talented people making these changes. We did add a mild change putting on a hybrid spoiler, which seems to fit the car well.

Call people who are modding a car that is built on the same platform as the heavily modded and aftermarket supported Si "Boy Racers"... then turn around and say your not condemning them... then say how you modded yours...LOL I love the internet .
You do realize sites such as this one tend to be made up of tuner types and people that don't just take what the factory gave them as a finished product? People that typically like to make their car more personalized and even improve on the manufactures short comings be with power mods, asthetic mods (like the spoiler you added to your wifes ILX) or a combination of the two.
Your intitled to your opinion and Im not mad or upset or anything (really more amused then anything) just thought I would point out how funny I thought your comment was and why
