As we all know the ilx with the base screen has ZERO options to replace it! I tried many things didn't work ......until i found a idea.
Look below! Not bad for a first time huh? 7 inch Andriod head unit in the oem display housing. I plan to relocate the oem screen to where the cubby storage is below and have 2 screens 1 for apple car play and 1 for radio. both will be backup cameras too! wide and up-close veiw.
I just wish i knew how i could cut a clean circle shape where the passenger airbag light would be as i vny wrapped over it. I can still cut it out just looking for a circle punch or something super sharp. My hand ins't skilled enough to make a nice uniform shape
the total cost to make 251$ give or take could even make some to sell if anyone else is interested dm me! (any 7 inch Andriod head unit works) just lots of labor and skill.
Anyone able to help me find which wire is what for the radio! 2015 ilx base
Power wire ( i assume its yellow or red)
Ground ( i assume its just black)
Reverse trigger wire? (+ power given to the oem camera ......help!
Dimmer wire ? (headlights turn on dims display and turns on backlight for buttons)......help

help! i cant find any acc wire that powers the android radio ... There is a thicker black and yellow cable which is + and - but they are live 24/7 i would rather connect both power and acc wire of the andriod radio together and tap into the oem acc wire i think it will be fine since its only the radio and the aux being powered and not all 4 speakers that the andriod unit can power
Barely touch it maybe 2 or 3 times a drive i got apple car play so once my one is connected spoifty automatically plays i can skip with my phone or just lean over. Either way it takes a shit on the oem screen that does nothing and is so small.
Curious how the plastic trim looks around the screen and the fitment. Did you just cut it out? How is the screen attached to the trim piece? If you could take some pics of the back side.
