Man that's cheap! How in the hell did you manage that one?

2mo. ago I got the same car at invoice pricing; 36mo. 12k/yr. lease, with like $2k down my payments are $405/mo.

I got the car at 3K below invoice.

Having excellent credit helped out a bit as well.

Does Acura typically charge a purchase option fee on these leases?

Also, is this "acquisition fee" typically in addition to the destination charge, or in place of it?

2016 ILX Tech + A-Spec
$32,810 + TTL

Just picked up this beauty two weeks ago. My wife has a '13 ILX, and we have loved hers so much, that I decided to get one as well.

Yes. Leases have "hidden" fees they will roll into the purchase price.

The acquisition fee is one such fee. Purchase option was not a fee on my lease.

A lease negotiation is the same as a purchase negotiation. Your goal is to get car sale price down.

The reality is, we all pay about the same regardless, because a dealer only has a small window to make profit.

If a dealer needs to lower the car price so the buyer feels happy about signing because that's how we condition ourselves, then the dealer will add fees afterward because they can't give the car away for a loss.

If you want an ILX premium level at 10k miles a year, for 36 months, and nothing down, you can expect to pay about $330 a month for car and $30 a month in tax. For about $360 total. Yes tax is on top of that.

Other trim levels will yield different monthly. Also your price will sky rocket if your credit is poor or average.

The factors affecting a lease are car sale price, your interest rate, and residual value. All us posters are paying almost identical true cost amounts after 36 months. How we get there with downpayments, upsells, or other gimmicks really doesn't matter.

My sales consultant emailed me an offer for the new 2016 ILXs
ILX Tech Plus - $28589 +TTL
ILX Tech Plus A-Spec - $30589

I thought these were really good deals, but the trade in value on my ILX Hybrid Tech killed the deal for me

Dealership in Brooklyn, NY took away my 2012 accord lease, paid last month and I forced them to pay for all damages on old car since adjuster never saw the car, but they tried to shift all uncovered damages on me. I'm paying $290 a month/36m, 10k for Acurawatch after $2k down payment. Other dealership offered me same price for Premium package, but that dealership was too far and who knows, it might have been bait and switch. Forgot to mention it was in beginning of April.

It was either acura of Westchester or Open road acura. I have acura of Brooklyn 5min away from where I live. They are crooks but you can work out decent deal with them, worse comes to worse always contact corporate office of acura.

Any hassle from the dealer regarding the TrueCar certificate?

Was it truly a hassle free experience? In other words you walked in with the certificate and paid $27,700 + tax?

Yup it was truly hassle free. I actually got it for $27,200, but they tacked on $500 for the floor mats, splash guards, and trunk liner ( i think they were trying to recoup some money but i didn't complain since it was a really good deal) the finance guy said they actually lost money on the transaction. But according to him they would rather take a small hit on initial profit rather then lose to a competing lot. He told me they make most of their profit from the service department plus more sales look good on their books. If they meet their quota they get special incentives. I was really surprised by the deal i got, if i had to pay the full MSRP i probably would have never got it. So in the end, i guess it works out for both parties.

That's true that dealers don't always make a big profit on the sale. They get incentives based on total number of sales. Also, I've been told that they make more profit margin on their used car sales. My '16 Tech was 31083 out the door with LED fogs and spare tire kit. It's on a 39 month lease with $2500 down and payments of $328/ month. I thought that was a good deal when I got it in April.

2016 ILX Tech + A-Spec

After many phone calls to surrounding dealerships, I was able to get a white 2016 ILX Tech + A-Spec and all season floor mats for $32,500 out the door.

Purchased in mid December.

Really wish I had not read this thread. Just leased a 2016 ILX base:
$300/month for 36 months with 10k miles. $2025 in fees/taxes due at signing. When the advertised deal that brought me in was $0 due at signing and 300/month for 36 months. And took at least $1000 less on my trade than every other dealer had offered. And I have ~800 credit score.

...never buy from the last dealer of the day without stopping for a lunch break at least.

Hey guys, first post here. I got a truecar price of 24,040 for the base model in metallic silver. After test driving and discussing options they screwed me on the trade in value and the APR seemed high to probably recoup the costs. Didn't even really get into specifics but they threw in 1500 for trade in + 2000 down and monthly payments of ~400 a month. I walked out and Carmax offered me 3k for my vehicle and I'm quoting lower APR rates. I hope I can work out a reasonable deal here. I was anticipating my payments to be roughly below $345 but 400+ was a dealbreaker. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,
I'm ready to buy an ILX Tech Plus with ASPEC. It seems this car is not a good seller for Acura, which is good news for me. The listed invoice is $33,777 (including destination fee). Based on what I've read in this forum, is a final price of around $30-31k (before TT&L) reasonable? I'm in the SF bay area. I likely won't be doing any financing or leasing so I'm interested in simply the straight cost of car.

Just today I bought an ILX. I think I did pretty good.
Trim: Tech Plus & ASPEC
Price before taxes: $29,500
Doc fee: $80

After adding 8.75% tax in Santa Clara county (SF bay area) the total out the door is $32,500. No financing or lease -- just paid cash.

Ccasanova, would you mind elaborating on your lowering springs? What brand are they, and how many inches of drop? Thanks in advance!

Those springs are not too expensive. I might scrape some money together for it if overall feedback is good.

I've been on a few trips with the ILX at Big Bear Lake, and some slightly off road areas, and I have regretted those trips even with a non-lowered car. I felt like I will puncture something underneath the car, because it sounded horrible as the ground scraped against the bottom of the car.

They feel firm, not bouncy. As with most lowering springs, pot holes transfer a good shock. I'd say these springs are better than others I've done in the past.
If you go on off road trails often(Big Bear), and are nervous about scraping, I wouldn't lower it.

I am surprised a dealer of all places did this for you. This doesn't void a lease?

Just bought mine 6/18/16. 2016 ILX Premium graphite luster metallic. Really a crazy deal because I got out of my 2016 RDX AWD Base after only 12 months of use and 7,300 miles. Sold it to the dealer for $32,000 and owed $30,628. That $1,372 helped pay for tax, tags, dealer fees, 1st months payment. I got $1000 in loyalty lease cash. The residual is 57% and money factor is .00011. Car price $26,260. Lease of 24 months for 12k miles a year. Monthly $354.

I think I got a pretty good deal, MSRP $30,840, Factory Invoice $29,392. It is important to note dealers are trying to get rid of 2016 due to the 2017 that have NO changes and because the 10th gen Civic is out. Dealers have $3000-$3250 of incentives for Premium and above models to use at their discretion.

Everyone asks me why I switched to a smaller car and my answer is: the RDX is a great car but the Base model is very basic, besides the standard backup camera with tiny screen the RDX Base was pretty bare bones and didn't even come with real leather. The ILX Premium comes with Milano leather, premium audio, dual screen lay out (which I love), AcuraLink iOS Navigation, Blind Spot detection, cross traffic alert. I also live in NYC and while parking was not terrible with the RDX the ILX is much easier to park and squeeze out of and for me I am getting at least 8 MPG better. This also slightly lowers my payment from $366 to $354. The ILX allows me to start withe a brand new car without adding months to my first lease, I am still on tract to own an Acura* for 36 months but ILX is brand new with no wear and tear on it like the RDX. At the end of the lease I will have maybe 15k-18K miles on the ILX compared to 22k-25k on the RDX. Also, the buyout for the RDX was $23,375 and the ILX is $17,500. I will miss the utility and AWD especially in the snow storm but performance wise 0-60 there both around 6.5 seconds and very fun to drive
