2016 ilx k&n intake in the works

Should work the same as i believe it will connect to the oem air dam you replaced with your custom velocity stack.

Uninstall done.
Oil up new filter if needed. Place intake where it goes. Tighten steel hose clamp. Reinstall MAF sensor via small screws.
Install done.
First time install Id say maybe 30. After that it's an easy 10 minute ordeal for me. So it wont bother me if I cant get the carb sticker for my intake. There is one. But when I bought the intake it was not yet "available" for the ILX so the carb reads for the 2012 Civic. So worse comes to worse 10 minutes before and after a smog is cake.

I'm really curious for those that have done the upgrade what they think about it. How does it sound, maybe do a little before and after video to show the difference. How it feels, etc. Personally I'm hesitant to do it because it's almost $300 and some say you loose HP rather than gain. So besides looks and brag factor, I don't see a point to it. Is there proof of these intakes helping in any other way? Does it extend the life of the engine? What are the other benefits for changing it?

Peti1212 - You sir are wise beyond your years. Read my post from the first page. I got strapped into a real (not "E") Dyno with the K&N and lost more than i gained. I will take mid-range torque over top-end HP ANY day of the week. Might sound cool, look cool when you pop your hood but it's pretty worthless. Not hating - i did it myself long before this tread started.

I bought the intake for the sound purpose. This is my daily driver if I want some speed I'll drive my e55 amg. In terms of the price it is a little too much, but it's the only available intake for this year. Either stick with AEM or wait for other brands to produce their own intake. As many members have posted previously it is a look and sound gain.

I think Ive explained that these intakes wont increase performance next to anything. As proved by mightycarmods, and you, regardless if the website you buy it from says "5HP gain!"
