2016 ILX Cold start transmission issues?
2016 ILX Cold start transmission issues?
As most of you know the 16 ilx comes with a dual clutch transmission. Living in the valley of Northern California this time of year, we’re getting a lot of cold mornings(50°-58°F). I’ve been noticing lately that after warming up the car for about two minutes after driving it first on a cold morning, it shifts in a funky way. It’s like once it hit 3rd gear it doesn’t want to shift any higher. I sometimes hear it reving so loud to the point where I feel like I need to automatically shift gears upward (+ paddle shifters).
Anyone else noticing this at all? I’m at around 45k miles and just started noticing this about a month ago.

It was 24 when I took delivery of my ILX last week.
Have you had the transmission fluid changed at all? IIRC, that's supposed to be done every 30k miles. If the fluid is breaking down, it can cause symptoms similar to what you're describing.

Def need more info on fluid maintenance
I bought it certified Pre-owned at around 38k. So I assumed all fluids were all maintained and taken care of. That’s why I didn’t take that into consideration.
And with all these wildfires in California 50-55° has been a significant change for my car within the past month. Considering about a month ago and all summer mornings were more looking at like 70-76° degree mornings

You might observe a bit of shift harshness on a DCT if temperatures were much colder - I'm talking below 20 degrees and if the vehicle is parked outside. Even then, it would be limited to when you first start the car and drive it before it fully warms up. The fact that you're having problems in far milder weather points toward a potential mechanical issue or, more likely, a lack of maintenance. Yes, the dealer should absolutely replace all fluids are part of the CPO process, but as a lot of us know, what a dealer should do versus what they actually do can be very different things.
